Title: Sacrifice received by God (worship)
Contents
Adam and Eve, the first humans created by God, formed a family and had two sons, Cain and Abel.
Among the two sons, Cain was a farmer and worked hard as a farmer.
But his brother Abel made a living by tending sheep.
After many years, Cain and Abel offered sacrifices to God with their produce. God accepted Abel's offerings and offerings, but Cain's offerings and sacrifices were not acceptable to God. The sacrifice you did not accept became a curse
I hope that your worship will be a blessing to your family and your soul as we look at how God receives and blesses us in our worship today, a sacrifice in the Old Testament era.
1, there is a sacrifice of Cain
When Cain came before God, he took grain from what he had and went to Hanani.
When the Old Testament people went to God and offered sacrifices, they were burnt offerings and peace offerings
The burnt offering symbolizes voluntary and complete devotion to God
The peace offering is a sign of true gratitude for God's grace. The sacrifices necessary for this sacrifice must be made of sheep and cattle (Exodus 20:24).
Cain did not know what kind of sacrifice God wanted, so he made a sacrifice according to his own taste.
He gave it to God as a product of his work.
These practices can be found in the worship of modern people as well.
There are times when I think of my circumstances and situation and feel grateful just to have worshiped like this.
If there were Cain and Abel who offered sacrifices, there was a God who accepted them.
If we have a worship service today, we must not forget that there is a God who receives this worship.
Therefore, we must worship the God who is worshiping us.
The worship that God receives should not be tailored to the taste of the giver, but to the word of God that is being received.
2, there is Abel's sacrifice
Abel's sacrifice built an altar by sacrificing sheep and cattle.
To offer sheep and cattle is to offer a blood sacrifice.
To offer a blood sacrifice means to offer a life
What does the amount of Abel's offering mean?
The New Testament Jesus
John the Baptist testified of Jesus, "When John saw Jesus coming to him, he said, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world" (John 1:29).
said
Therefore, in Abel's sacrifice, a sinner who could not dare go to God could
W I offered the sacrifice of humility before God
Who on this earth can stand before God proudly?
Everyone is a sinner, it's just shameful and sinful
Even when I look back at myself, I am only ashamed and dirty, but I cannot go before God with that form.
is
Even if you have ten million gold, it is a merit and you cannot go before God.
So, through the merits of the blood of Christ, He opened the way to God.
I am so grateful and thankful for the grace that opened the way for sinners to go before God.
I will go before God with a sacrifice with a heart that I will serve the Lord with all my heart.
It's built an altar
Abel had this kind of faith in his heart.
God accepted the offering and sacrifice
3, what was the result?
(Genesis 4:4-5) "The LORD had acceptable Abel and his offering, but not Cain and his offering."
God did not accept Cain and his offering, but accepted Abel and his offering
Cain was filled with anger because God's offerings and sacrifices were not acceptable.
In the end, Cain became the first human killer to kill his brother Abel.
If our worship is unacceptable before God, we may become angry and angry and become a murderer.
If there is a quarrel in the church after the service, and if there is a fight, shouldn't you think about the service I gave you again?
(Hebrews 11:4) "By faith Abel offered to God a better sacrifice than Cain, and he received evidence that he was righteous, for God testified of that gift, for he died, but by his faith he speaks."
Saints!
God did not accept Cain's sacrifice without blood
But Abel's offerings and sacrifices with blood were accepted
How many worship without Jesus today, dedication without Jesus, offering without Jesus, service without Jesus, dedication?
The worship God receives is not the worship that suits our circumstances, but the worship that obeys God's Word and seeks to bless those who worship that way.
Everyone!
Do you want to be Cain?
Do you want to be Abel?
May the blessings of Abel overflow in your homes and hearts in Jesus name, amen.
(John 4:24) ?쏥od is a Spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.??
