Video screening - Titanic
Today's text is the introduction to the end of Paul's second letter to the Thessalonian church, where Paul prays for the Lord's peace.
This is because the relationship between saints and peace is very close.
In a time when there is no peace as it is these days, and only news of conflict between individuals and between countries is plentiful, peace is definitely one of the topics that should be emphasized.
Now, focusing on Paul's origins, we will look at the relationship between the saints and peace, and the mission of the saints to preach peace.
Yehwa - Consistent Jewel
There was a wife whose husband was a theater actor. Whenever people around me said, "How can you have fun with your husband as an actor?" “My husband is a comedian on the outside, but at home he is a tragic actor.”
1. God is peace.
Through the words of today's text, the Apostle Paul testifies, "May the Lord of peace Himself grant you peace at all times and in every way."
The word “peace” that Paul spoke of here has the same meaning as the word “peace.”
This peace, which only God can give, is completely different from the instantaneous security or peace obtained by this world or humans.
Only God can give us peace in the true sense of the word, and he grants peace to the saints through Christ.
Also, the peace that God gives is fundamental and does not change according to any external conditions or circumstances.
In other words, God's disposition that does not break or break these promises, such as the promise to take care of his children under any circumstance, the promise to surely accomplish salvation, and the promise to provide necessary things, is the most fundamental peace in the lives of the saints. is to bring
Therefore, those who do not know the Lord do not experience this kind of peace. Conversely, if they say they know and believe in the Lord, but do not enjoy this peace, they will know that there is a problem in their religious life.
Yehwa - A disease of concern
Worry is a virulent virus with a high fatality rate. It is estimated that 300,000 young people died on the battlefield during World War II. Social psychologists, however, are concerned about the death of American citizens from heart attacks or other diseases after sending their husbands or sons to the battlefield. “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God, and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:6-7)
2. Saints must enjoy peace.
Today the Bible says: “The Lord be with you all”
When Paul refers to “everyone” here, he includes not only the honest and righteous of the Thessalonian church, but also all sorts of people who have caused controversy in its various forms.
In other words, they wished to enjoy the peace of the Lord, even for those who thought that the Second Coming of Christ was imminent and lived a life of escapism, those who did things without a scale, and those who had troubled the church by making work.
As such, God, the source of peace, is always with his people, but unfortunately, some cannot enjoy the peace of the Lord.
The causes are anxieties and concerns about real life, a weak heart to follow the lusts of the world, and a vague fear of the future.
If the believer clearly realizes that the Lord is not the master of his or her life, he will no longer be troubled by the same problems as above.
The Lord is the Creator and Master of heaven and earth, who raises the dead, heals the sick, and strengthens the weak.
If you have such a Lord as your father, but do not rely on it and live in constant anxiety and anxiety, it is definitely not true faith.
The Bible promises that those who trust in the Lord will surely enjoy peace.
The saints must be able to enjoy peace.
Whether he is poor or rich, if he has a strong trust and trust in the Lord, he will surely be able to preach peace like the Apostle Paul.
In the name of the Lord, I ask that you become believers who remember that the life of enjoying peace is the life of living the truth.
