Title "Saints are people of blessing"
content
p; Philippians 4:8-9
p; This week is the holiday week that includes Chuseok. All of them will be leaving their hometown to the extent that it is truly called a national migration. When it is a national holiday like this, there is a tendency for us Christians to feel a little ambivalent and clumsy. This is because the customs of keeping our holidays all come from Confucianism, so there are some things that do not fit well with our Christian beliefs. It is okay if the whole family has accepted Jesus, but it is even worse if it is not. However, if you have a clear Christian attitude but do not violate your faith, I hope that you will have a rich and blessed Chuseok by boldly accepting traditional things and sharing joyfully with people.
p; 1. Wherever you are, never forget that you are God's people.
The saved children of God must not forget that they are God's people wherever they are. This does not mean to be free like oil on water. Rather, a Christian is one who enters into the world while making his faith clear. But no matter where you are, who you hang out with, or whatever situation you are in, your identity must always be clear. We must not forget that we are God's people.
p; Jesus clearly explained the relationship of the saints with the world in the parable of the leaven.
...Heaven is like a woman who puts it in a horse
All are like leaven that has been swelled. Matthew 13:33
If leaven is to become true leaven, it must go into the powder. But I must not go into the powder and crumble into powder, and I must not roll around alone in the powder. The meaning of the word of the Lord is that the leaven should go into the flour, but do not become flour, and do not roll around alone, but melt yourself and fulfill the mission of inflating the flour. A Christian is not a person who rejects or turns his back on the world. Also, of course, it is not that they are stained and rotted together in the world. This parable tells us that the Christian is a living being who changes the world without losing himself while going deep into the world.
p; Dear brothers and sisters who are the Lord's leaven, do not become the leaven that rolls alone on the floor, separated from the flour, but go deep into the flour to become the true leaven that melts together and kneads together. It should not crumble in the flour, making it impossible to tell whether it is flour or leaven, or becoming a loner without sharing. Rather, become the living leaven that causes the work of change in the dust through more earnest devotion and sharing of love. That is the beautiful face of God's people. Wherever you are, do not forget that you are God's people in heaven.
p; 2. Be a person of blessing wherever you are.
A Christian is a person with God. The person with whom God is with him becomes a blessed person himself, and he becomes a person who makes his place a blessing.
When God blessed Abraham, he said:
bsp; I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, and you will be a blessing.
bsp; ...all families of the earth will be blessed through you... Genesis 12:2-3
God is the source of blessing. He also said that God's people, the saints, should be blessed. Bless you all wherever you are. Be people.
p; My mother has one strange belief. It is a belief that when you enter a restaurant, it will soon be crowded with many customers. It's a bit of a superstitious belief so I'll just laugh it off, but isn't my place better than having the jinx that something bad is going to happen! It's not about being superstitious, it's about believing that you are a person who brings blessings on your own.
p; Joseph was the one who brought blessings wherever he went. Although he was a servant, Potiphar's house grew more and more prosperous with his presence. He was framed and went to prison, but the prison was at peace with his presence. When he later became the prime minister of Egypt, through Joseph, the whole country of Egypt was able to prosper in a long and long famine. His brothers hated him and sold him, but he was able to survive the famine because of Joseph. Because Joseph was a bringer of blessings.
p; In today's text, the Apostle Paul tells us:
bsp; brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are godly, whatsoever things are just,
bsp; whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is praiseworthy,
bsp; Whatever virtue you have, whatever glory you have, think of these things.
bsp; Do what you learn from Me, receive, hear, and see.
bsp; Then the God of peace will be with you. Philippians 4:8-9
In a word, it means to become a person who brings blessings. The message is to make that place a place full of joy because of your presence. The message is to make that place a place where worries disappear and laughter blossoms because of your presence. The message is to make that place a place full of happiness because of your presence. ?쏽ou learn from me, do what you have received, you have heard, and you have seen.??No matter where you are, if you live according to the Word, such a work of blessing will appear because of you. Wherever you are, bring blessings? Bless you people.
p; 3. Just as there is a hometown of the body, there is a hometown of the soul.
Everyone is heading home. Hometown is a place that gives true comfort and rest. That's why people go home to their hometowns without hesitation of the long-term congestion and difficulties. It is a visit to a foreign country to let go of the tired and tense mind and body and to rest.
p; But true comfort and rest can be found not in the home of the body, but in the home of the soul. A place where I can go to find comfort and strength when my soul is weary and tormented, a place where I can run to shed tears when my soul is sick and lonely, a place where I can go to drink water from the fountain of my soul when my soul is thirsty and helpless--that is the soul is the hometown of
p; Where is your soul home? When your soul is weary and lonely, where do you go, where is there a spring of water to drink when your soul is thirsty and wandering? Where there is the Word, where there is prayer, where there is worship, where there is the comfort of the soul, where there is the Lord's touch, the hometown of your soul, I believe that the church is the body of the Lord. Where the grace of the Lord is, the church is the shelter of the soul and the hometown of the soul.
p; An 'eternal hometown' is promised to those who have this 'hometown of the soul'. How unhappy is a person who has no home to return to when his life as a stranger in this world is over. A person who has nowhere to go no matter how splendid they are in the world, and a person who does not remember God no matter how famous they are in the world, such a life is vain, vain, and vain. A saint is a person who has not only a hometown on earth, but also a hometown of the soul. And to those who have the hometown of their souls, the ?쁢ternal hometown?? the kingdom of God, is promised.
p; Chuseok is a season of meeting, gratitude, and sharing. I hope you have a pleasant meeting. May your gratitude be abundant. And I hope that it will be a season of joyful sharing with each other. I hope it will be a season of sharing hearts, sharing food, sharing love, sharing friendship, sharing news, and sharing joy. In the name of the Lord, I bless you in the name of the Lord that people will become happier and more joyful through you, the people of blessing, so that the fragrance of Christians overflows and the glory of God is revealed.
