Title: Saints beyond the Impossible

Bible: Mark 9:17-24

Starting Point of the Word>>

The first week of August has already started today.

Today, I pray that the grace of God who lives and works through the Word will be filled with you.

Today, we would like to share a message with you under the title of “Saints who overcome the impossible.”

When people encounter situations, circumstances, and events that they cannot solve with their own strength, wisdom, or ability, you can see the following two reactions.

First, there are people who live with the belief that nothing is impossible, and on the other hand, there are people who live with the opposite attitude.

However, as saints, we accept and acknowledge the impossibility, but believe that we can overcome this impossibility together with God when we trust in God's help.

Then, how should I live in order to live a life that transcends the impossible while standing in front of these impossible events that come up in the field of life?

This is an important question to ask us ahead of the sermon of today's text.

In today's text, a father brought a young child with epilepsy to visit Jesus' disciples and ask for healing.

So the disciples worked hard to cure this child, but because it was not cured, they fell into despair.

Just then, Jesus went up the mountain with his three disciples and came down.

When the child's father finds Jesus, he falls on his face and asks for help.

This impossible epilepsy is a disease that is difficult to cure even now.

However, in the process of Jesus healing this disease, we can learn the secret of life that can break through the limits of human impossibility.

Go to Word>>

So, what is the secret of life that we must learn to overcome the impossible through Jesus who heals today?

First, you must come before Jesus with a problem.

If we look at the words of verse 19,

“He answered and said to them, “O unbelieving generation, how long I am with you and how long will I be patient with you? Bring him to me.”

You said.

What we need to notice in this verse is, “Bring him to me.”

Today, this father brought a child with a demon-possessed disease to the disciples of Jesus.

Perhaps they were looking for Jesus and came to the disciples because Jesus was not there.

So this father asked Jesus' disciples to heal his son, but the disciples could not.

When we often evangelize to those around us, we say to those who are in some kind of difficulty or who are suffering, "Come to our church and we can solve it if we rely on God."

I don't think there's anything wrong with saying this.

So people come to the church as they received evangelism with the hope of solving their problems.

But the important thing is, does the fact that they come to church solve the problems of their lives?

It's not like that.

We know that from our experience.

But I believe that if they can come to church and meet the true God, their problems can be solved.

However, what I am emphasizing is that the fact that I have joined the church does not solve the problem.

Example>>

When one of the parents took their little one to church, they didn't say something like this when we went to church, but always said, "Hey, let's go to the house of our God."

So every day was a Sunday, and my parents said let's go to our God's house.

Then, that same day, the little boy answered, "I'm not going."

So why not go? Then he said, "God is not at home when I go out at night."

Naturally, this little boy came to church expecting to find God and looked around, but he did not see God.

The church should be a place that shows God.

What is the purpose of all our worship services, prayer meetings, and Bible studies?

It is to experience and meet God.

The Bible says that the Lord of the church is Jesus Christ.

And the essence of the church is not just a building or any power.

Therefore, nothing special happens just because you enter this building, where God's people who make up the church look and worship the truly living God, where two or more people gather in my name and exalt the name of the Lord, God is there. It is your presence.

Then you will experience God there, meet Jesus, and if you meet Jesus, your problems will be solved.

The most important thing for believers is to experience God and meet Jesus.

Therefore, it should not end with our leading to the church.

Of course, it is very important that unbelievers come to church.

Because it is not easy to enter the church beyond one threshold.

Therefore, we need to teach those who come to the church so that they can run to the Lord who is the true shepherd, meet the Lord, and depend on the Lord, so that they can have a wonderful experience of meeting God.

Jesus says:

“I am the way, the truth, and the life”

You said.

We must become saints who look to the Lord who is the way, the truth, and the life, and we must become the saints who bring the problems of our lives to Him and entrust them to Him.

Only then, we believe that we will overcome the impossible and experience a life of wonder with God.

Second, you must have complete trust in Jesus.

If we look at verse 28 of the text,

“When he entered the house, his disciples asked him quietly, “Why were we not able to cast out the demon?”

asks the disciples.

Now the disciples asked the Lord quietly because it was after they failed.

How could we not cast out demons?

How did we fail?

Everyone, why was this child not healed, why no miracle happened, why the disciples' prayers failed, what is the cause?

If we look at the words of verse 19,

“He answered and said, O unbelieving generation...”

What do you mean?

Here we can see a clear cause, and now Jesus indirectly tells us that the reason this child was not healed was simply because he did not have trust in God, that is, he did not have faith.

Why is this generation not experiencing God's miracles and not experiencing God's glory today?

It's because you don't have faith.

God reveals His glory, reveals His presence, and shows His hand where we trust Him.

But Jesus says:

He did not say that the disciples had no faith, but said, "O you of little faith!"

Ladies and gentlemen, when these disciples followed Jesus and decided to become disciples of Jesus Christ, they had some level of faith in Jesus.

We, too, have some differences, but we all have some degree of belief.

That is why we can worship, praise, pray, and come close to the Lord to serve and serve.

So, if I ask you, 'Why are you so unbelieving?', you wouldn't feel very well.

That's why Jesus didn't say that either, but said, "O you of little faith! The reason you failed, the reason miracles didn't happen, it wasn't that you had very little faith, but that you had little faith."

In other words, in this field alone, they did not fully demonstrate their faith toward the Lord.

Gentlemen, when we say we believe, the important thing is not the word itself, but the object of the belief.

In other words, faith in Jesus, that is what matters.

Because the cause of this failure was not believing in Jesus, but believing in himself.

Even though they were disciples, the moment they fell into the temptation to trust themselves rather than momentarily trusting the Lord, the disciples experienced failure.

I hope you will become believers who believe and trust only the Lord during this time.

We may not be able to solve problems because we lack faith, sometimes we do not have the ability, and sometimes we cannot rely on our own strength and strength to solve problems, but our Lord can solve all problems in life.

Third, we must solve problems through prayer.

The disciples asked Jesus, ‘Why couldn’t we drive them out?’

Jesus answers you through the words of verse 29.

“He said to them, “This kind cannot go out by anything but prayer.”

It is said that prayer is the most powerful way to break through these problems.

However, the same article is dealt with in the Gospel of Matthew.

Whoever finds Matthew 17:21 first will read it.

The one who smiles is the one who finds it quickly. "None" is like this.

Why is it like that?

All of the Bibles we are writing are manuscripts, and in some manuscripts, it is written in Matthew 17:21, “None,” and on the outside, “This kind cannot go out except by prayer and fasting.”

What did you emphasize with prayer?

It is said that he emphasized not only prayer, but also fasting.

What is fasting?

What people are obsessed with, something they never miss in their day to day life, is eating.

However, prayer that cuts off until the meal time and clings to it earnestly is called fasting prayer.

Therefore, if there is the most earnest form of prayer, it can be called fasting prayer.

It is to overcome these difficulties beyond our strength, our wisdom, and our thoughts, to experience the glory of God and His presence, and to experience the wonders of the living God.

Just because the early church of Acts is a very ideal church, do not imagine that it is a much superior church than the modern church.

We had the same problems as we did, and there were fewer buildings and fewer members than ours.

Nevertheless, the early church was exerting an influence and impact that could shake the world of its time.

What was the cause?

It was right there on the fast.

The prayer that he prayed fervently on his face was moving the world.

Today, in the name of the Lord, I ask that all of our members be raised up as warriors of more fervent prayer so that all problems in life will be solved.

At the end of the speech>>

Organize your words.

The father of the little boy who appeared in today's text brought Jesus his big problem.

And I was able to receive the problems of life by completely believing and trusting in Jesus.

The disciples lacked something.

It was faith and it was prayer.

If we bring impossible problems to the Lord through life in the world, but we cannot put them down and do not entrust them, we will not be able to overcome this impossibility until the very end.

In the name of the Lord, I pray in the name of the Lord that all the members of our service will come out with problems and experience the amazing grace of God that overcomes the impossible through faith and fiery prayer that completely entrusts to the Lord.
