Title: Saints Used by the Lord
Bible: Matthew 21:1-11
Starting Point of the Word>>
Today, this time I would like to share a sermon with the title of “Saints used by the Lord.”
If there is a word in our life that we do not want to hear, it is, “I do not need you anymore. You are useless.”
On the other hand, if there is a saying that is the best to hear, “You are a precious person. You are the person we need. You are a useful and valuable person.”
Likewise, it is a great blessing for us to become saints used by the Lord.
If the Lord looks at us and says, 'You are worthless'...
Therefore, as long as our lives exist and as long as the Lord needs me, it is the greatest blessing and grace to be used by the Lord.
In today's text, we see a scene in which Jesus rescues a young donkey before entering Jerusalem.
What does it mean for Jesus to enter Jerusalem?
Jesus sent his son Jesus to this earth to fulfill God's word, and now he is about to send him to Jerusalem to fulfill that purpose.
But God could not let Jesus in on foot.
He had to find a donkey in order to fulfill the word prophesied through the prophets of the Old Testament long ago.
Today, when Jesus entered Jerusalem to accomplish the work of salvation, He chose a humble and weak donkey.
Although the appearance of the donkey was insignificant and weak, just as it was able to become a precious donkey used by the Lord, today I pray in the name of the Lord that you and I will be used as precious workers before the Lord.

Then, what kind of faith do the saints used by the Lord have?
First, I am a person who has the belief that I am the subject for the Lord's purpose.
If we look at the words of verse 2,
“He said to them, “Go to the village opposite, and immediately you will find a donkey tied up and a colt together; bring it to me.”
You did.
And when someone said something, he said, “The Lord will use it.”
The village across from it is recorded as Bethany in the Gospels of Mark and Luke.
Today's event seems to have been remembered as a very surprising event for the disciples of Jesus as well.
Because all the events in the text are recorded in the four Gospels.
However, in the Old Testament, “the prophet Zechariah had already prophesied 490 years ago” is recorded only in the Gospel of Matthew.
Matthew understood “Jesus as King”, and Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem was seen as the entry into the kingdom of the king prophesied in the Old Testament.
So Matthew records that the colt had been carefully planned by God long ago for the colt to be used so gloriously on this day.
If we look at verse 4 of the text,
“This was to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet.”
God was prophesying through the prophets long ago for Jesus, who was about to enter Jerusalem today.
Aren't you looking forward to what kind of plan God, who has such a delicate plan for a donkey, will have for the church we serve and all the members?
God created us and sent His only begotten Son, Jesus, to save us from sin and death, and God saved us by giving Him on the cross.
Therefore, we are precious people whom God exchanged for Jesus.
According to 2 Timothy 2:20,
“Even a vessel that breaks after being used several times on this earth has a purpose of being used”
says Paul.
There is also a gold bowl in the bowl. There are silver bowls as well as wooden and earthenware bowls.
But what is the precious vessel made of? how much did you have What position are you in? how much do you know It is not that a vessel used by God is a precious vessel.
Everyone, God is still looking for someone to accomplish His purpose.
However, there are some believers who move forward as subjects who accomplish God's purpose, while others ignore the Lord's call and only care about their own good things.
This is the last time, a time when God is looking for believers who want to be used for His work.
In the name of the Lord, I ask in the name of the Lord that our Church of Service and all of our members will become the subjects of the Lord's work in the last days, and that they will be recognized and glorified by God.
Second, we are saints who acknowledge that the Lord is our Sovereign.
How did Jesus know that there was a donkey tied there without going into the village?
And how could the master give away the donkey, not a hoe or a shovel, with a single word from the two disciples saying, “The Lord uses it”?
Here, we must realize the relationship between Jesus and the Bethany region.
Although Jesus visited Jerusalem several times, he never slept in Jerusalem, and each time he came to Bethany to eat, talk, and sleep with the villagers.
The word Bethany means house of sorrow, house of the poor.
The Lord was the friend and hope of those who lived in this village, swallowing pain and sorrow, sickness and suffering.
The Lord healed a leper in this village, touched the pain of a sinful woman, and lifted the dead to show that He is the Lord of hope and life.
Bethany is where Martha was always preparing meals for Jesus, and Mary was sitting at her feet and listening to the word.
When Lazarus died here, Jesus wept in front of Lazarus' death and even raised him to life.
Therefore, the people of Bethany knew the Lord very well and were ready to give freely whatever the Lord wanted.
In other words, there were always Bethanians in Jesus, and Jesus was always in Bethany people.
Therefore, in this relationship, the nameless devotee, the donkey owner, also gave up the donkey that he owned to Jesus, which has the same meaning as not only giving the beast called a donkey, but also offering himself.
It is not a simple devotion, but it means the highest level of faith that allows you to give up everything at a time when there is no distinction between mine and Jesus.
Jesus had already become like a family through his relationships with the people of that village.
Therefore, since they were a close family, they knew exactly where the donkey was tied and where the donkey was, and when he said, “The Lord will use it,” we were able to put it out with joy rather than forcing it.
This allowed us to acknowledge Jesus as the Christ, to show His sovereignty, and to commit ourselves.
Third, we are the saints who shed the precious blood of Christ's cross through their lives.
If we look at verse 3 of the text,
“If anyone says anything to you, say that the Lord will use it, and he will send it immediately.”
There is only one place in the Bible where Jesus directly refers to himself as “Lord.”
Whenever Jesus went up to Jerusalem, he visited and met the people of Bethany.
However, according to today, Jesus does not come to the village, but only asks for a donkey.
However, because the Bethany people trusted and loved each other in their relationship with the Lord, they would have known what Jesus' journey was like this time.
Therefore, the people of Bethany knew that Jesus was going to carry the cross now, and the offering of the donkey was in preparation for Jesus' death on the cross for the redemption of mankind.
Herein lies the principle of devotion.
Whenever we do something for the Lord, whenever we give something for the Lord, we must have the blood of Jesus Christ in our hearts.
Our lives should be colored with gratitude and emotion for the blood of Jesus Christ.
If we feel that we are alive through worship, service and devotion, or even through our daily lives, we must become saints whose blood is soaked in the blood of Christ.
This is where the true sovereignty of the Lord appears and if you say, “The Lord will use you,” you can confess, “Yes, you can use me anytime.”
At the end of the speech>>
Today Jesus used a donkey tied up in Bethany.
If we look closely, there is nothing better than a donkey.
However, the Lord, who used a donkey to reveal God's great work, is looking for a worker to be used for this time and for many souls.
I hope that we will all remember the God who beats his heart and sheds tears while looking at Isaiah.
Now, we are looking for workers for the kingdom of God and for God's purpose. We pray in the name of the Lord that we will not delay to other members of the church, but that we will stand before the Lord with our hands up and become precious workers who will be used by the Lord.
