Title: Saints who have a beautiful influence

Bible: Philippians 4:4-9

Starting Point of the Word>>

This time, I would like to share a message with the title of “Saints who have a beautiful influence”

There are three kinds of people among people.

The first is a person who must exist, the second is a person who is enough even if there is none, and the third is a person who should not be.

It is important to think for a moment to which of the three we each fall. Of course, it is desirable to belong to the first category, and at least not to the third.

Jesus said to us, “You are the salt of the world” and “You are the light of the world”, which is a command that we must be in this world, and that we must exert the beautiful influence of Christ. This is what you expressed.

Everyone pursues happiness and wishes to live a happy life.

Our beautiful influence makes us not only happy, but also sharing this happiness we enjoy with many others.

Last Monday morning, we had a toast evangelism service, and the common thing that people who receive toast and tea say is “thank you”.

Making others happy doesn't require much effort, big money, or great learning or preparation.

All you need is a little concern for others, understanding, humility, and a kind heart.

A small smile, a small kindness, a small concession, and a small sincerity can make a person happy.

Although the world we live in today is dark and difficult, we must remember that as believers, we can share a happy life with the beautiful influence of Christ.

Today's text gives an appropriate answer to the question of how we can have a beautiful influence on others.

Go to Word>>

Looking at the words of today's text, verse by verse, we would like to share how we can have a “beautiful influence”.

First, look at the words of verse 4 of the text.

“Rejoice in the Lord always, I say again, rejoice”

A person who is always in joy can make others happy.

A person who is always frowning and always complaining and complaining when he opens his mouth cannot make others happy.

Also, you can have a beautiful influence on people when you are not happy for nothing, but when you have a clear reason for your joy and are not selfish.

There is a saying in Korean that “sorry is halved when shared, and joy is doubled when shared”.

Therefore, a beautiful influence should comfort the sick and become a saint who shares greater joy where there is joy.

But the important thing is that our joy should be centered in Jesus Christ.

If you influence what the world gives you, you can be hurt by what the world gives you.

But the joy that is in Jesus Christ has a wonderful power that cannot be taken away from the things of the world.

I hope that you will become believers who have a beautiful influence by rejoicing in the Lord today.

Next, look at verse 5.

“Let everyone know your generosity”

The original word translated "tolerance" here is one of the most difficult words for scholars to translate in the entire New Testament.

It refers to "justice and something better than justice."

Tolerance can be mistaken for generosity at the expense of justice.

But tolerance here refers to the wisdom and power that does not sacrifice justice and makes it not sacrifice or hurt anyone.

How happy would you be if you could show forgiveness and love without giving up on justice?

This is hard work, but it is required of us Christians.

Since it is a must-have for all Christians, he said, “Let your generosity be made known to all.”

Just as we are influenced by beautiful generosity through Jesus Christ, we should also become saints who exert the influence of beautiful generosity.

Here are the words of verse 6.

Verse 6 first says, “Do not be anxious about anything.”

A person who is not concerned reassures others and makes them happy.

A person who brings up all sorts of worries and concerns that he doesn't ask whenever he meets them makes others tired, depressed, and annoying.

Even if you don't, it's a difficult world to live in, but if you have to listen to other people's concerns, your desire to be happy will subside.

It's not because we don't have anything to worry about.

Because we cast all our anxieties on God.

That is why the Apostle Paul said, “Do not be anxious about anything” and then “In everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.”

A person who is free from worries can have a beautiful influence on others with a prayer that reveals everything to God and asks him to solve it.

Finally, look at the words of verse 8.

Verse 8 introduces us to several ways at once to have a beautiful influence on others.

“Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are reverent, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are praiseworthy, if there be any virtue, if there is any praise, think of these things.”

First of all, the phrase “whatever is true” in this verse means to live a faithful life, to be trusted by anyone.

A faithful and reliable saint can have a beautiful influence.

It is also said to be “reverent in all things,” which is a word for respectable, dignified, worthy, and noble seriousness.

A person who is always respectable, dignified, noble, and takes everything seriously can have a beautiful influence on anyone.

Being “right” in “whatever is right” means doing your part in your relationships with people.

A person who strives to have a right relationship with God and does his or her part in all relationships with people can make a beautiful impact.

The phrase “everything that is pure” refers to something pure.

It is pure enough to allow access to God and reflect the image of God, and pure enough to be used by God.

An impeccable and innocent person can have a beautiful influence on many people.

And “anything is worthy of love.”

It refers to the heart and being a person who can win the hearts of others.

A person who can't help falling in love just by looking at him really does not have enough to have a beautiful influence on everyone.

“Anything worthy of praise,” he said.

A person who does everything he does to earn a good reputation also makes people happy.

And lastly, “whatever virtue there is, whatever glory there is,” it refers to all kinds of excellence and praiseworthy things.

If we earnestly think and do things that are true, godly, right, pure, lovable, commendable, virtuous, and honorable, we will surely become saints who have a beautiful influence on others; And it could be a church.

The situation we are in today is not a situation that makes us happy, politically, economically, or socially, but even more so, we must have the beautiful influence of Christ on many other souls.

At the end of the speech>>

Organize your words.

I hope that the church we serve and all the members of the congregation can have a more beautiful influence in this area.

We hope that the beautiful influence of Christ through us will be delivered to them as a message of salvation as the light of the gospel, and we hope that we will be able to invite many people with that influence to the place of salvation.

In the name of the Lord, I pray in the name of the Lord that all of us who worshiped together today will obey the Word and become the light and salt of the world in order to become saints who can have a more beautiful influence.
