Title: Saints who soar like eagles

Saints who soar like eagles

Isaiah 40:27-31

2010. 1. 1 Spiritual worship

The Hoihai of Gyeongin year is bright. First of all, I hope that the great grace of our God will be with you and your family. I will share New Year's greetings with the next person. Please bless me.

If our difficulties continue for a month, two months, one year, two years, it is easy to blame God and complain. Physical illness does not heal quickly. Difficulties in livelihood continue. The business seems to be getting more and more difficult. Financial difficulties are not well resolved. Difficulties with children are not easily ameliorated. It's not going to be resolved so quickly, and time just keeps on passing. You become anxious and anxious. I get annoyed. Complaints and complaints are easy to come out. It is our weakness.

The same goes for the people of Israel. The people of Israel are now living in captivity in the Babylonian kingdom. It is like Korea living under Japanese colonial rule or living under communism. They increase the seawater of captivity. One year passes. Five years pass. 10 years pass. 20 or 30 years pass. They can't stand it any longer and now they complain to God. resent God.

In today's text, the Israelites are complaining about two things.

1. They are complaining that their circumstances are hidden from the Lord.(:27)

[27] Why do you say, O Jacob, and why do you say, Israel, my case is hidden from the LORD, and my complaint is not accepted by my God? It was that God was not interested in our difficult situation. It doesn't even bother us about our difficulties.

2. They are complaining that God is not solving their grievances.(:27)

[27] Why do you say, O Jacob, and why do you say, O Israel, my case is hidden from the LORD, and my grievance is not accepted by my God? is that it does not.

People usually tend to blame God when they are having a hard time.

I am having such a hard time, what the hell is God doing?

I pray that God will solve my difficulties like this, but God is not answering me.

God introduces Himself to the people of Israel who complained like this, asking “Do you know who I am?” [28] Did you not know or have you not heard, have you not heard of me?

At the same time, God describes himself as follows:

1. Eternal God / Immutable God, God Who Fulfills His Promises, God Who Loves You Equally

2. The God who creates to the ends of the earth / God the Creator, the God who created you

3. God is not weary or weary / God is a God who has no human weakness, and if God were weary or weary for even a moment, that is, his powers were limited, the universe he reigns in would be in a state of chaos. is. God is not weary or weary in caring for and guiding us.

4. God with infinite understanding / God who is the source of wisdom, there was no way to save Israel (us).

5. God who gives strength to those who are weary / It is a promise that the Lord will give the people of Israel new strength, who were weary and weak during the Babylonian captivity and become helpless to the point of being unable to do anything.

6. It is a God who gives strength to the incompetent. / God is a God who does not leave his incompetent people alone, but gives them strength.

It is important for us to know rightly who God is. We need the right knowledge of God. In particular, I need to know what kind of person God is to me.

God who has unchanging love and concern for me, the God who created me, the God who works and works for me now, the God of wisdom who will guide me amazingly, God if you give me strength when I am tired and give me strength when I am incompetent! How is it? Are you not strong?

God tells you to clearly know who I am and to only look after me.

[31] But he who waits for the LORD

So, what does it mean to look to Jehovah?

1. It means to look to the Lord.

No matter our circumstances or circumstances, our gaze must be directed toward God. Our eyes should not be fixed on ourselves and on difficult situations.

(Mic 7:7) “But I look to the Lord, and I look to God who saves me; God will hear me.”

(Psalm 42:11) “My soul, why are you discouraged, and why are you troubled within me? Look to God, and I will rather praise my God, who helps my face.”

2. Longing for Jehovah.

(Psalm 73:25) “Who can I have in heaven but you, and on earth I have no one to long for but you”

(Psalm 119:174) “I have longed for thy salvation, O LORD; I delight in thy law.”

(Psalm 107:9) “He satisfies the longing soul and fills the hungry soul with good things.”

3. Waiting for Jehovah.

(Psalm 37:7) “Be still before the LORD and wait patiently; let his way prosper, and do not complain about him who works out his evil schemes.”

(Psalm 40:1) “[a psalm of David, a song by command] I waited and waited for the Lord, and he gave ear to me and heard my cry.”

(Proverbs 20:22) “Do not say that you will repay evil; wait for the LORD, and he will save you.”

When you look forward to it like this, He promises to give you new strength. What happens when you gain new strength?

1. You can climb like an eagle.

No matter how windy the wind or how much rain, the eagle will break through it and climb up.

He gives us spiritual refreshment so that we can take off regardless of circumstances and circumstances.

(Psalm 103:5) “He satisfies your desires with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle.”

2. Even if you run, you won't get tired.

It is said that moving towards a goal is running the Bible.

(1 Corinthians 9:24) “Do you not know that in the field all runners run, but only one wins the prize? Run in the same way that you may win.”

(Philippians 2:16) “To reveal the word of life, that I may have something to boast about in the day of Christ, that I run neither in vain nor toil in vain”

And God gives us the hope of the calling to which God has called us, and gives us the new strength to run toward the end of the goal to which we are supposed to run.

3. You won't get tired even if you walk.

It refers to the path of our life. It means living our day-to-day life. He gives us new strength so that our day-to-day lives do not become weary, weary, and discouraged.

Let's look to the Lord in any circumstance. So, I pray in the name of the Lord that you may receive the new strength God gives you, soar like an eagle, and win.
