Title: Samuel
Content Samuel
Samuel is a great man in the Bible. The word Samuel means .
Samuel was, in a word, the right person for the code. Who would the code be with?
1. A person who is in line with God.
In Samuel's time, there was no man of God. The Bible says:
(1 Samuel 3:1)
It was a time when God could not find God's people even when he looked for them. There was no one who could give God the word of God. So you were looking for someone. Then Samuel appeared. Samuel was a man of faith who was completely in harmony with God. So God chose Samuel to take on the work of the times.
The supreme spiritual leader at that time was High Priest Eli. But Eli the high priest had already lost his spiritual sense. Hannah could not have children, so she came to the tabernacle and struggled and prayed. At this time, I saw Hannah praying as she struggled with a cold, and thought she was drunk. Spiritual discernment is gone. God does not use people without discernment of spirits.
However, Samuel struggled to find God's will by living in God's house from the moment when the milk began to run out. This was pleasing to God. So God did not use the 98-year-old high priest Eli, but turned his attention to the 3-year-old Samuel.
Samuel was in line with God. So God chose Samuel to be a man of God.
2. Someone who matches your code with your parents
Samuel matched his parents. When Hannah could not have children, she made a vow to God.
(1 Samuel 1:11)
God listened to Hannah's vow and gave her son Samuel. Hannah kept her vows. How much would he have wanted to raise his son Samuel? However, as soon as she became weaned, she made them live in the tabernacle. And I was brought up as a Nazarite. The Nazarites are those who keep three things.
1. You must not put wine in your mouth.
2. Do not cut your hair.
3. You must not look at the body.
These three vows were not made by herself, but by her mother. However, Samuel obeyed his mother no matter how much his mother made a vow.
But Samuel got along well with his mother. She didn't deviate even an inch from her mother's will. God chose Samuel like that and made him a great man.
So was Isaac. God commanded that the 100-year-old Isaac be sacrificed as a burnt offering. Abraham obeyed God's command. He took Isaac and went up to Mount Moriah. Isaac carried the wood to burn him. And the embers were in their hands. It was strange. When my father said that he was going to offer a burnt offering, he took them all up, but there was no burnt offering. So Isaac asked his father.
He said this because he thought he would run away when his father Abraham said it.
I climbed the mountain. Only then did Abraham tell Isaac that the burnt offering was actually you. Isaac can run away. You may rebel against your father who is trying to bind you But Isaac was obedient. I did as God commanded my father. I matched the code with my father. God used these children out loud.
The children in the Bible were great children who matched their parents' codes.
So was Samuel and Isaac, but so was Jephthah's daughter.
Jephthah prayed to God when he went to war with Ammon.
(Judges 11:30-31)
God gave Jephthah the victory over Ammon. As Jephthah was returning home, the first person to greet him was at the door. She was an unmarried woman. Jephthah said at this time:
(Judges 11:35)
Hearing this, the daughter said this while matching the code with her father.
(Judges 11:36)
Jephthah's daughter is also an obedient child. And he died. They are amazing children. They are children who follow the will of their father and mother.
In this way, God uses people who live in harmony with their parents.
3. The Prophet and the Chord Match
Samuel was in line with God and his parents. However, he was a prophet whose spirituality matched the prophet. Samuel was the chief of the prophets. In other words, he was the president of the School of the Prophets. The Bible makes it clear.
(1 Samuel 19:20)
From these words, it is clear that Samuel was a prophet among the prophets. Before that, there was no prophetic meeting. There was no prophetic school. So Alexander Waite says in his book, A Book He Wrote:
Who is a prophet?
A person who receives the word of God and delivers it to people. Who is a priest? He is a person who receives the words of people and delivers them to God. Samuel received the word of God from an early age. It was Eli who spoke first. Young Samuel served as a prophet to the high priest.
God taught Samuel in detail what was going to happen to Eli's family. A prophet is one who can receive the word of God. A prophet is a person to whom God speaks. If you can still receive the word of God, you are a prophet.
The spirituality of Samuel was the spirituality of the prophets. So I created the School of the Prophets. And I matched spirituality with the prophets. I became one with the prophet.
There are elements that a prophet needs.
(1) Prayer.
This is because we must seek and discern the will of God. And we must receive the Word of God.
(2) We must boldly preach the word we received. You must have courage. It is impossible without courage because we have to speak the right words to God, not to tell people what is pleasing to hear.
John the Baptist was decapitated after speaking the right words to King Herod. Sometimes you have to face these difficulties.
Samuel was a courageous prophet who risked his life and preached only the word of God. It was truly courageous.
In China, there was an Avante that said there was courage.
One day, the king of China promulgated it.
The people took Avante to the king. The king put it up on the wall to see if Avante was really brave. And made me spread my arms. I called a good archer and told him to shoot the bow between his feet. The bow went between the two feet. Next, I was told to shoot the bow on both sides of the armpit. I did that. Those were breathtaking moments. It was a moment where life could run away if done wrong. The archer shouldn't have made any mistakes.
Next, the king put a hat on Abandi's head. And he told me to shoot over the head under the hat. The archer aimed well and was finally hit by the muzzle on the tip of the head.
Avanti did not move. The king praised him for his courage and rewarded him with a nugget of gold. And I replaced the perforated hat with a new one. He also gave me a new jeogori with a hole in it. Then Avanti said.
said the king.
Avanti said.
4. The Priest and the Chord Match
Now I want to see Samuel from the priest's side. Samuel is a Levite by birth. It is a tribe of priests (1 Samuel 1:1).
A priest is a spokesperson who asks God for the will of man. Samuel is a priest who always prayed to God for the people of Israel.
(1 Samuel 7:5)
Samuel offered sacrifices as a priest. But one time, King Saul offered a sacrifice himself. So he was hated by God. Samuel always played the role of a mediator to inform God of the circumstances of all the people.
Samuel was a priest.
5. Someone who matches the code with the judges
Samuel is the last judge. As Samuel, the era of leading the judges was over, and Saul became the first king and ruled over Israel. Judge means ruler. I mean politician. Indeed, Samuel was a diverse man.
(1 Samuel 7:15-17)
Samuel was also good at politics because he got along well with the politicians. Indeed, Samuel was a diverse person.
Anyone who is good at one thing is good at everything. If you can't do one thing, it's easy to be unable to do everything. A tree you want to grow can be recognized from the cotyledon. Samuel was a special person who was good at everything.
Samuel's death
Samuel was a man of faith who lived during the transition period from the theocracy to the monarchy. The Israelites loved Samuel very much. So when Samuel died, all the Israelites mourned.
When Paul wrote the book of Hebrews, in chapter 11, he selected 16 people of faith from the Old Testament. They are giants of faith. They are giants and giants. Among them is Samuel.
(Heb 11:32)
Samuel was a man who worked even after death.
Samuel is a man who speaks even in death.
