Saul was very faithful to Judaism's Pharisaism. That is why I am so angry with the new Christianity that I think that this is a thorny group that needs to be exterminated at the beginning, so I went to Damascus with a warrant from the high priest to exterminate the Christians who had already killed and imprisoned Jesus Christ and his followers and fled to Damascus .
But he becomes obsessed with something amazing. He experiences a spiritual and terrifying experience that cannot be endured without being changed. Even now, many Christians have been changed through similar spiritual experiences like the Apostle Paul.
It was about noon. This is when the sun's light shines most intensely. As he approached Damascus, an unexpected light from the sky that would overshadow the noonday light shone all around Saul. Saul fell to the ground. And a voice came from heaven.
Saul! Saul! Why do you persecute me?
Saul replies in a tone of fear, the size of a mosquito.
Lord! Who are you?! A voice comes from the sky again.
I am the Jesus you are persecuting! Now get up and go into the city, and someone will tell you what you are going to do from now on!!
Saul is now commanded to be appointed as an apostle who will lead the church out of the Palestinian realm to Europe, Africa, Asia and the world.
Let's split Saul's life in two.
1. Saul
① Before meeting the Lord, Saul said he believed in God, but he believed that he was the most righteous man.
You are the biggest one.
In fact, he didn't realize it.
② Before meeting the Lord, Saul is a vicious and principled man who believes in God and has neither forgiveness nor tolerance.
2. Paul
① After meeting the Lord, Saul realizes that he is the most filthy person.
We come to know that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life.
We know that there is no one who can be saved except Jesus.
② The Apostle Paul was able to see again.
What a joyous man! What a grateful person!
I became a person of Jesus.
