Title: Secret of Blessing
Content The secret of blessing (Gen. 26:25)
What is faith, and whose belief is the best? You will have to find the answer in the Bible. Abraham is called the father of faith, the father of faith. So, what kind of faith was Abraham's faith? God told Abraham to sacrifice his son, whom he bore at the age of 100, on Mount Moriah. This was not to love anything more than God. Faith is loving God more than anything else in the world. Anything you love more than God is an idol. If you want to be blessed, offer the idols in your heart to God. When God knew Abraham's fear of God, he promised blessings.
I will bless you and make your offspring great, and I will make you like the stars in the sky and like the sand on the seashore, and your offspring will have the gates of their enemies, and through your offspring all peoples under the earth will be blessed, because you He said, “I have done it.” (Genesis 22:16-18)
We want our faith to be the faith of Abraham. So Abraham became the father of faith who passed on the blessings to Isaac.
Isaac inherited the faith inherited from Abraham. After experiencing many failures, Isaac discovered the secret to never being deprived of God's blessings.
Genesis 26:25 says:
So Isaac built an altar there and called on the name of the Lord, and pitched his tent there, and his servants dug a well there too.
Everything in the world has priority. What to do first and what to do later No matter how busy you are, when these things are reversed, you are at a loss. The blessing of faith also has priority.
1. We must keep the priority even for the blessing of faith.
Unless the LORD builds the house, those who build it labor in vain; unless the LORD guards the city, the watchman watches in vain. )
No matter how hard we try, nothing can be achieved without God's help. The priority in life that God blesses is church, family, and social life.
2. Church life, family life, work life must be balanced.
All three are important. The subject of my sermons is a balanced faith. Church life, family life, and social life must be in balance and harmony. If you say that you are doing well in your religious life, but your family life is a mess and your husband points you out, it is not a good life of faith. Even at work, reading the Bible, singing hymns, and praying every day, if you do not set an example, you will become a source of criticism, ridicule, and ridicule from your colleagues.
When Isaac was living a balanced life of faith with priorities, Abimelech led an army to visit Isaac. Abimelech says:
We have clearly seen that the LORD is with you, and we will make an oath between us, between us and you, to make a covenant with you (verse 28).
Abimelech came to himself and made a covenant of peace with Isaac. Because Abimelech saw God with Isaac. Dear brothers and sisters, I hope that you will live the year with a balanced faith as your priority and receive the blessings enjoyed by Abraham and Isaac.
