Lesson 3 Heart's Clothing
2. The blessing of the heart of Jesus
(Romans 12:1) Therefore, I beseech you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.
(Romans 12:2) Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may know what is the will of God, which is good and pleasing and perfect.
(Romans 12:3) By the grace given to me, I say to each one of you, do not think exceedingly as you ought to think, but think wisely according to the measure of faith God has given you.
(Romans 12:4) Although we have many members in one body, not all members have the same office.
(Romans 12:5) In the same way, we who are many are one body in Christ, and members of one another.
(Romans 12:6) Each of us has different gifts according to the grace given to us. If it is a prophecy, it is according to the fraction of our faith.
(Romans 12:7) If it is to serve, then if it is to serve, if it is to teach, if it is to teach
(Romans 12:8) But whoever has authority, let him give alms in authority, he who rules with sincerity, he who is merciful with diligence, let him do it with joy.
(Romans 12:9) Love does not lie. Hate evil and be part of the good.
(Romans 12:10) To love one another, to be kind to one another, to honor one another first.
(Romans 12:11) Do not be lazy in diligence, but serve the Lord with zeal.
(Romans 12:12) Rejoice in hope, persevere in affliction, persevere in prayer,
(Romans 12:13) Provide for the needs of the saints and strive to provide hospitality.
(Romans 12:14) Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.
(Romans 12:15) Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep.
(Romans 12:16) Be of the same mind, and do not set your heart on high things, but rather be lowly, and do not pretend to be wise in yourselves.
(Romans 12:17) Repay no one evil for evil, but do good in the sight of all men.
(Romans 12:18) If it is possible for you, be at peace with all men.
(Romans 12:19) Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath, for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, says the Lord.
(Romans 12:20) If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him a drink, and you will heap coals of coals on his head.
(Romans 12:21) Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
wise life
I wish you a new year of 2010, overflowing with wisdom in your life and gaining great victories. Athletes who recently won gold medals at the Vancouver Winter Olympics! They are proud of themselves, but they have brought great joy to many people. They had wisdom and a great victory was given. I bless you that we too will have such wisdom and victory in the field of life.
To do that, I need to know what to entrust to God and what to do. What do I entrust to God? It is to take revenge. Because God will repay you. Then what should I do? Do not be overcome by evil, but do good. A gold medal in this life is more important than a gold medal in the Olympics. I wish you all the best of luck in winning the gold medal in this life, and all of us rejoice because of it. So, what is evil and what is good?
what is evil
Evil means doing harm. Whoever does evil to me is the one who harms me. The more he does, the more he becomes my enemy. Ordinary people want to pay back twice as much for what they have done. It is to take revenge.
However, the Bible tells God to entrust revenge to God, and if you are hungry, feed, and if you are thirsty, drink. to satisfy his needs. He tells us not to be overcome by evil, but to overcome evil with good.
In other words, I do not repay evil with evil because I have received evil, but I have received evil and I have to do good to him. This is to overcome the enemy, to overcome evil.
This does not mean that we are ignoring evil. It's not about not paying it back. It speaks of trust in God. It's God, not me. God will punish me, so I don't have to punish. I do not seek to punish, I am to do good. What is a line?
Jesus' example
We can know what good is through the example of Jesus. Before the cross, Jesus prays earnestly so that his sweat becomes drops of blood all night in the Garden of Gethsemane. A fierce battle between good and evil is going on there. Jesus prays and asks that the Father's will be done, not his own. This is the line. I am following my father's will, not mine. Even when his enemies hung him on the cross, Jesus obeyed the Father's will to the end. Even if he suffered evil, he did not repay evil with evil.
the need for prayer
Like Jesus, we can see that in order to follow the Father's will rather than my own, to overcome evil with good, we must strive to pray like Jesus did. Jesus told his beloved disciples to pray so that they would not fall into temptation. So are we. In order not to be defeated by evil, I bless you to increase your prayer time. Therefore, I bless you that we will continue to do good and follow the will of the Father.
shepherd's life
What is a life that constantly overcomes evil with good? Rarely do we suffer the evils of robbers. Rather, it is important to know who are the people who usually do evil to me, and to do good to them. They are close people. They are the objects of my evangelism and nurture. They are the objects of my shepherd. I am constantly hurt by them.
The Bible admonishes the small, comforts the weak, supports the weak, and tells us to be patient with all people. In other words, even if they suffer many difficulties and harm from the poor, the weak in heart, and the weak, they endure long and do not forsake them, but still follow the Father's will, and strive to shepherd them to evangelize and make disciples.
It is like parents raising their children. Children do a lot of harm to their parents. You don't know how upset my parents are for being disobedient and stubborn. Children are enemies. Nevertheless, parents love their children and constantly help them grow up right. It is to overcome evil with good.
So did Peter. You lie in fear. He denied Jesus in public. But he repented and followed the Lord again. The Lord came to him and awakened the shepherd. He caused many to follow the Lord.
What is victory over evil with good?
That's right. What does it mean to overcome evil with good? It means continuing to do the Father's will. The standard is not my heart to repay evil, but to do God's will. This is following the Lord who followed the will of the Father to the end. It is to get people to follow the Lord. I bless you that you will become a true victor over evil by allowing everyone to live as the Lord's disciples, no matter what kind of harm they face.
