See if you can count the stars
In Genesis 14, Lot, Abraham's nephew, was destroyed by war.
He became a prisoner of King Chedorlaomer.
Abraham took 318 home-trained soldiers with him.
Rescue Lot.
I gave a tenth of the spoils to the king of Salem.
All the spoils were given to the king of Sodom.
Today's text
Genesis 15:1 It was Abraham who had a great victory,
discouraged and frustrated
Reason
1. They were afraid that the four kings from the north might attack.
2. After giving all the spoils obtained after the war to the king of Sodom
I was drowning in human despair.
Lessons from God to Abraham
1> Don't be afraid.
15:1 After this he said in a vision, “Do not be afraid.
The phrase “do not be afraid” is recorded 71 times in the Bible.
Believers in Jesus have nothing to tremble or fear under any circumstances.
God knows us.
“I am your shield.”
It means that God is the shield, not man's shield.
“This is your exceedingly great reward.”
God rewards.
God will pay you abundantly.
2> God guides me according to God's plan.
Don't be surprised by God.
When you say I will be your shield and reward...
Abraham's prayer
“What are you going to give me?”
“I have no children, and my heir is Eliezer.”
God's answer
“He is not your heir
He who comes from your body will be your heir.”
My thoughts and God's plan for me are different.
# God's guidance
first. Almighty God has a wonderful plan for me.
second. God's plan is the plan established by Almighty God.
3> God's plan for me “See if you can count the stars.”
God to Abraham
“Look up to the sky and see if you can count the stars.”
There is a wonderful plan for me that only God knows.
“See if you can count the stars.”
Big plan.
Even now, few people have left God.
But when God uses it, it is great and wonderful.
