Title: Self-righteousness and single-mindedness are different
Galatians (3) Self-righteousness and celibacy are different (Galatians 1:8-10)
<Self-righteousness and single room are different>
Do your best to defend the truth, but do not undermine the “essential problem” with “minor issues.” Be devout in your ‘faith’, but be flexible in your ‘life of faith’. Prove your faith with the positives rather than the negatives, and as you go to the higher places, look at the lower places. Be flexible when you need to be flexible and be rigid when you need to be rigid. Self-righteousness and single-mindedness are different. These days, “a devout person with flexibility” is more demanded.
The Apostle Paul did not always live like an upright taut cord. He, too, compromised when he had to compromise, and retreated when he had to, even when accused of cowardice. So, in the church life, I was often tolerant in matters of ethics, life, and traditions and formalities. He looked cold on the outside, but he had a warm heart. However, when it comes to the problem of truth or the damage of the gospel, we have dealt with it decisively.
Paul must have wanted to live a gentle life, too. Guarding the truth is good, but who wants to be cursed? Still, since the truth of the gospel is a very important matter related to the soul, we could not yield it alone, and we could not do it if we were criticized for that matter. So, in verse 10, he says: “Am I now seeking to please men or God or do I seek the joy of men? If I have sought the joy of men, then I am not a servant of Christ.”
You must please people, but please God more. Be flexible, but don't sit around under the guise of flexibility when it comes to destroying the soul. Then, resolutely choose the path to please God rather than please people. In this way, distinguish between self-righteousness and devotionalism, and become “a devout saint with flexibility.”
< Spirituality that makes words wise >
However, do not abuse verse 10 of the main text. Occasionally, while suffering conflicts and problems due to his wrong words and actions, he quotes the phrase “Am I good for people or for God?” in verse 10 of the main text, saying that he will not do things that are pleasing to people There are self-proclaimed spiritualists who neither recognize nor correct wrongdoing. So spirituality has to be basically human before we can discuss it.
There are even jokes about how important it is to be a human being. “Faith, hope, love, and character are all important, but the most important of them is character.” The most important indicator of character is words and deeds. Therefore, let the gracious words come out of your mouth by meditating more carefully, learning, studying, and mastering the truth so that there are fewer mistakes in your words. That is true spirituality.
The Bible says that 'making up beautiful words by meditating on and studying them' is the 'word of truth' (Ecclesiastes 12:10). However, false spiritualists disregard the beautiful words that are created through deep meditation and study as human words, and insist that the words spoken right out of the mouth are the words given by the Holy Spirit. So, how often do the Words are misunderstood and the Bible interpretation is wrong? Now let the words that come out of your mouth and thoughts become beautiful words that you meditate on, think and form.
The proverbs that Solomon meditated on, studied, and crafted beautifully are beautiful words of deep wisdom that were built 3,000 years ago and are now the Bible. On the other hand, how much heartache would the Holy Spirit feel if the Holy Spirit gave such words while improvising using ungracious words and expressions? It can be a serious sin against the 3rd commandment, “Thou shalt not take the name of God in vain!” Be blessed spirits who always abide in the Word and glorify God with wise words and blessed faith and character.
