Sermons for Preaching

Title: Seulgi going through (Mark 06:45-52)

Content In order to understand today's text, it is very important to know the background first. There had just been the famous incident of the five fishermen at Bethsaida, and the Lord Himself went to the mountain to pray, avoiding the crowds who had witnessed this miracle. Now, when the disciples crossed the Sea of Galilee, met the wind, and rowed with pain, the Lord rescued them from the crisis and said [Take it easy, it's me, don't be afraid].

The first thing he tells us is that, along the path of life, there will come a day when we have no choice but to paddle with pain, not always happy and good days.

The disciples had just witnessed the festival of Bethsaida and met this storm before the excitement had subsided. Today's Galilee was needed to go out to the bigger sea tomorrow and build the kingdom of God.

The second problem to consider is the fact that the disciples did not have the right form of faith in this test.

It is a question of why they were not like Jesus' disciples and were cowardly and anxious, nervous, and shaky. Because they did not see Jesus in their eyes, you can see that they faced this kind of failure. Because their beliefs depended on what they saw.

However, they lacked spiritual insight and even lost the world of inner order. It shows thoroughly that yesterday's faith cannot represent today, and today's fullness cannot reveal tomorrow's faith.

The third lesson is what the Lord's actions looked like when the disciples were facing the storm.

It is the fact that he was praying, he was already in the water, watching, and at the decisive moment he walked to the sea and rescued him. And you said [Take it easy, it is me, do not be afraid!] In other words, He sees our tormented oars, is praying, and delivers us when the time is right.

What kind of oar are you rowing now? Is it the anger of loneliness, failure, discouragement, and anger that no one knows about? Whatever it is, the Lord sees, hears, and knows now. Do not complain that the Lord is invisible to us, but have a spiritual perspective. Above all, spiritual recovery is more urgent than the problem itself.

Was the night deep? The day will come soon. Although there are countless challenges along the way, as long as you are in the same boat with Jesus, the problems will no longer appear to be problems. Now pay more attention to the Lord in the same boat. The voice of the Lord will be heard.

No matter what trials you face, don't be shaken

Today's prayer Heavenly Father, who knows our sitting and rising, is with us in the storms of our lives today. Help us not to lose focus on the Lord who rules the waves, no matter what storms may overtake us along the way.

Please help me to realize the wisdom of Heavenly Father, who is making me a man of God and working together for good through the storm I am going through right now. I pray in Jesus name. Amen.
