Title: Share with You (Nehemiah 8:8-12)
Contents
There's a short story called "Strength and Neuralgia" by O'Henry. A robber broke into a house. He raises his gun and shouts to raise his hand. The owner of the house, who woke up from his sleep, raised only his left hand. I shouted to raise my right hand as well. The owner of the house says he can't raise it because he has neuralgia. The robber also said he had neuralgia and was holding a pistol in his left hand. The two stayed up all night talking about neuralgia. At dawn, the robber left the house waving to the owner of the house, like a friendly friend.
That's right. When we can share something, we become friends, and then our enemies become friends.
There is a saying that love grows when shared, and pain decreases when shared.
Today's text, Nehemiah 8:8-12, says, "Share ye." This obviously presupposes what you already have.
In Matthew 14:16, while feeding the crowds in the wilderness, Jesus said, “We have nothing to go, so give us something to eat.” You are presupposing what you already have.
So what can you share?
A) Let's share our dreams
Henry Ford was the builder of cars. It was when I was living in Detroit. I got a message that my mother is in critical condition. I brought a doctor in a carriage, but my mother died in the meantime. With this as an opportunity, I had a dream to make something faster than a wagon and save a person in critical condition like my mother. In 1893, at the age of 30, I finally started operating the engine and succeeded in making a car that was truly faster than a horse. Detroit, where this test drive took place, was packed with people. The newspaper wrote: It is said that "a carriage not pulled by a horse runs faster than a horse". The tombstone where he was buried is inscribed with "The Dreamer".
Joseph was a dreamer. He was sold into Egypt as a slave and became prime minister. He was in a position to save Israel in times of famine. It was used that way because he was a man of dreams.
Look at Jesus. As he began his public life, he first suggested the dream of heaven saying, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand." People of God are people who dream and share dreams.
b) Let's share the teaching
In Galatians 6:6, it is said, "Let him who is taught share all good things with him who teaches the word." The movement our church is conducting is a place to share the Word and teach. And it is a place where those who teach and those who are taught share good things. Because without learning and training, you cannot grow. Jesus shared his teachings. How to effectively share teachings is a challenge for all of us serving the church.
C) Let's share the gospel
Romans 15:27 says, “They did this for rejoicing, but they are also indebted to them. When the Gentiles received the gospel, they became debtors to the Jews. What a beautiful word.
We need to know the falsehood of dialogue without the Gospel. Jesus, we need to know that the exercise of forgetting the authority of His name is futile.
In Matthew 16:16, Simon Peter answered and said, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God." That is the content of the gospel. It should be a life of sharing the Son of the living God who is our Lord.
D) Let's divide the substance
In Acts 2:43-47, the early church said that material goods and services were available. It was a community of love that shared material things. Blessings that aim solely for the accumulation of one's possessions are not biblical.
In particular, the early church made it a principle to give relief through the church, not through individual acts of salvation.
E) Let's share life
John 15:13 says, "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends."
