Title: Sheep Without a Shepherd
Contents
If you look at the characteristics of sheep, sheep cannot live without a shepherd. Sheep can't even build a house on their own. The sheep might even come to the house. Sheep have a dull nose, so they cannot tell the difference between poison and poison. Also, sheep have poor eyesight and may fall off a cliff while only looking ahead. Sheep have short legs and are helpless when attacked by wild beasts such as wolves and wolves. Indeed, it cannot but be an animal that is extremely fragile. Finally, the sheep cries aloud in fear when the shepherd is not seen. Therefore, for sheep, the shepherd is an absolute position and existence.
1. The position of the shepherd at the time of Jesus
Matthew 23:1-2 Then Jesus spoke to the crowd and to his disciples, saying, The scribes and the Pharisees were sitting in Moses' seat... … .
Matthew 23:23 … … .You give tithes of mint and fennel and cumin... … .
2. Why Jesus looked embarrassed
1) Matthew 9:35 Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues and preaching the gospel of the kingdom.
He healed all diseases and all infirmities.
Matthew 9:36 When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, for they are troubled and wandering like sheep without a shepherd.
The shepherd must awaken the sheep with the word of life and prepare them to meet the Lord. However, the lives of those who claim to be religious leaders are to worship God in vain if they teach people's commandments rather than God's commandments. In the end, the blind leads the blind to their destruction.
2) Matthew 15:7 You hypocrites, Isaiah well prophesied of you, saying,
Matthew 15:8 This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.
Matthew 15:9 “In vain do they worship me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.”
Matthew 15:10 He called the crowds and said to them, Hear and understand.
Matthew 15:11 It is not what goes into the mouth that defiles a person, but what comes out of the mouth
to defile
Matthew 15:12 Then the disciples came and said, Do you know that the Pharisees were a stumbling block when they heard these words?
Matthew 15:13 Jesus answered and said to them, "Every plant that my heavenly Father has not planted shall be uprooted.
ini
Matthew 15:14 Leave it alone; for they are the blind leading the blind. If the blind lead the blind,
He said they would both fall into the pit.
3) Matthew 23:2-15 The gates of the kingdom of heaven are closed in front of people, so that even those who are trying to enter cannot enter.
4) Jeremiah 23:1 Woe to the shepherds who destroy and scatter the flock of my pasture, saith the LORD.
Jeremiah 23:2 Therefore thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel, to the shepherd of my people:
You have scattered my flock, you have driven it away, and have not looked after it. Behold, I am your evil spirit.
I will repay you for your deeds, says the LORD.
Jeremiah 23:15 Therefore, this is what the LORD of hosts says about the prophets: Behold, I will feed them wormwood and drink poisonous water, for wickedness comes out of the prophets in Jerusalem and spreads throughout the land.
That is why Jesus called the 12 disciples and made them to preach the gospel of the kingdom because there were few workers for the harvest.
3. The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few.
1) Matthew 9:36 When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, for they were troubled and wandered like sheep without a shepherd.
Matthew 9:37 Then he said to his disciples, The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Matthew 10:1 Jesus called the twelve disciples and gave them power to cast out unclean spirits and to heal all diseases and diseases.
It means that there are few shepherds who teach the gospel of the kingdom and make wheat. The purpose of raising the 12 disciples and the purpose of making the 70 disciples are all for the purpose of repenting and setting them up as God's servants.
Matthew 25-1-3 The servant who prepares the oil
Matthew 25:14-30 The servant who leaves behind talents
Matthew 25:31-46 The servant who makes sheep
Acts 8:26-40 The Ethiopian eunuch did not know who the suffering Jesus of Isaiah 53 was because there was no one to guide him. As Philip the deacon guided him, after receiving Jesus, he was baptized and returned to his home country freely (with joy).
Acts 8:31 He answered, How can I understand, since there is no one to guide me? And he asked Philip to get into the chariot and sit with him.
Therefore, the shepherd must teach the sheep to always be ready to meet the Lord so that they can always stand before the Lord. And the sheep must listen to the voice of the shepherd. That voice is the voice of the Holy Spirit, and it is the voice of a shepherd who speaks on behalf of God. We must teach them not to be wandering sheep like sheep without a shepherd, but to be obedient sheep as if they were accounting (counting) for their own souls.
Heb 13:17 Be obedient to those who lead you and be submissive, for they watch for your souls as they are judges of themselves. Let them do this with joy, and do not do it with sorrow, otherwise it is of no benefit to you. Nina
Also, the shepherd must carry out his mission well and protect the wolves that hunt the souls of the sheep with life. (*)
