Title: Shema Education/Deuteronomy 6:4-9
Content Shema Education/Deuteronomy 6:4-9
Today is Children's Day. I pray in the name of the Lord that all children and children on this earth will be filled with God's great blessings.
In Psalm 127:3, God says this about His children.
“Children are an inheritance from the LORD, and the fruit of the womb is his reward.”
Teaching and helping them well is our greatest duty and mission.
There are people on the planet that are always in the spotlight. It is the Jewish people of Israel.
The king of Africa asked his servants. 'Is there really a God?' Then the servant answered. 'Yes, it is.' 'How can I prove it?' 'You can tell by looking at the Jewish people who are superior to the nation.' This briefly tells how excellent the Jews are. There are three major contributions made by the Jewish people to the world. First, through the Jews, it was announced to the world that Christ was coming. The second was the Bible, and the third was the nation that always testified to God. Enemy of 12 million Jews with creative brains - Einstein, Karl Max, Freud, Mendelssohn, Chopin, Spinoza, Charlie Chaplin, Elizabeth Taylor, Adam Smith, Columbus, Roosevelt, various Nobel laureates, and 30 professors of world-class universities % are all Jews. The Jewish people set the seven-day week, and the Jews were the first to start compulsory education. The founding of democracy was also Jewish. What makes them so good? It was because they were a nation chosen by God and received a unique education in God. What was the special education of the Jews?
① The education of their children was the first to be religious education.
“Hear, O Israel, there is only one Jehovah our God; you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength” (Deuteronomy 6:4-5).
This was the first of Jewish Shema education.
The education of ancient Sparta was strong, but it lacked wisdom, and it was eventually destroyed. However, Jews had God-centered education, and even now, the first education they teach to children is God.
② I did vocational education in God.
If you are in God, of course you are working for God. They say that if anyone doesn't want to work, they shouldn't eat. They teach their children how to fish without giving them fish. Instead of creating a pond, you dig a spring. They taught fundamental solutions, not temporary methods. They think of God who will be glorified through their work.
③ Their education was early education.
“Teach a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it” (Proverbs 22:6).
This is the strength of Shema Education.
'If you teach your children diligently, you will preach these words when you sit at home, when you walk on the road, when you lie down, and when you get up. It shall be written on the doorposts and on the outer door' (Deuteronomy 6:7-9).
Jewish education focuses on early childhood education.
There are people who neglect worship because of the baby. Some people do not attend worship services as an excuse to raise children. But what a child really needs is to worship God and show him how to live according to God's word. The Jews, who raise children centered on the Word of God, are now living as a nation superior to the world's nations according to the covenant of Deuteronomy 28.
Dear members of the Lord's Glory Church, the most important thing for children is religious education. I hope you all keep that in mind. From now on, I hope that you will teach from the word of God and grow according to the word of God. So, I earnestly pray that our descendants will be blessed by God and used in world history.
