Title: Ships Carrying Souls
Contents
Text: Mark 16:16-18
The holiday season has officially arrived.
Traveling requires a means of transport, whether by plane, boat or car. However, these things may be a means of transporting our bodies, but not the means of transporting our souls to heaven. The invisible inner man (soul) is truly more important than the outward man (body) visible to people. The body is precious, but the soul is even more precious. Therefore, you must invest in your soul as you invest in your body.
Let's confess together. "I will invest my whole life for my soul."
Jesus came to this earth to save our souls.
Jesus made a sure investment for our souls. He went the way to save our souls even by dying on the cross. That Jesus had a conversation with his disciples while they were going to Caesarea and Philippi.
Jesus: "Who do people say that I am?"
The disciples said, "Yes, you call me Elijah or Jeremiah or one of the prophets."
Jesus said, "Who do you think I am?"
Peter confesses to Jesus' question.
Peter said, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God."
Jesus rejoices
Jesus said, "Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah. Flesh and blood did not reveal this to you, but my Father who is in heaven. On this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not prevail against it."
The church is a gathering of those who confess Jesus as the Son of God and my Lord, and the place of worship is the chapel. Therefore, the church thoroughly rejects and blocks the elements of the devil, so we should make it a sanctuary to protect our faith.
In any case, do not criticize the church or the saints, and say everything in a good way.
The church is very precious because
① The church is the Lord because Jesus bought it with the blood.
② Because Jesus is the head of the church.
The role of the church in Israel's history
(1) It is Noah's ark in Genesis 6.
Noah sacrificed his whole life, and because of this, Noah was ostracized by the people.
(2) It is the tabernacle in Exodus 25-26.
When the people built the tabernacle, they brought it abundantly and were blessed, and those who made the hidden golden calf were cursed.
⑶ This is the Jerusalem temple in 1 Kings 6.
David was blessed even if he only had the heart to build the temple, and Solomon built it and enjoyed tremendous blessings.
Those who entered the ark, those who served God in the tabernacle, and those who loved the temple received God's love and blessings.
In the New Testament, Jesus Himself became the temple.
John 2:19 testifies, "Destroy this temple, and I will raise it up on the third day," he said, referring to his own body, which was a temple.
At the moment when he was sacrificed to the Lamb on the cross, the veil between the Holy and the Most Holy was torn from top to bottom, and this fact is revealed in Hebrews 10:19-20, “By the blood of Jesus we have confidence to enter the Holy of Holies. I am a new and living way, which he opened for us through the veil, which is their flesh.”
The church, bought with the price of Jesus' blood, is now a ship carrying our souls.
A person who has a thorough confession of faith doubles that profession and protects and protects us from the waves and waves of the world. This is what John 3:8 says, "For the appearing of the Son of God is to destroy the works of the devil." Jesus is the one who sets us free from the sickness of the body, the trouble of the heart, and the sin of the soul.
We must build a church that the power of the devil cannot overcome.
We need to build a church with spiritual power that the devil can't do anything about. To do this, you have to keep pumping the water that seeps into the boat.
For example, the idea of golden omnipotence is like the golden calf that the Israelites worshiped in the wilderness. You should also watch out for this.
Also, humanistic ideas are the same as the Baal that the Israelites served. You must also give up this lifestyle that you are comfortable with.
Hope you win.
