Title: Sickness and Satan/ (Job 2:7)
Contents
Satan is bringing evil diseases to man. Then Satan withdrew from the presence of the Lord and struck Job, causing him to swell from the sole of his foot to the top of his head (Job 2:7). The Bible says that Job took a piece of tile and scratched himself while suffering from a skin disease. Of course, it can be assumed that Job's skin disease was caused by germs. However, it can be seen that it was Satan who supplied this germ. When Job fully repented and Satan withdrew, his skin disease was completely healed.
There are many sayings that diseases were caused by demons, and then the demons left and health was restored.
There was a woman who had been ill with a demon for eighteen years, and was crippled and unable to straighten at all. Jesus called and said to her, “Woman, you are free from your disease.” He laid his hands on him, and immediately she stretched out and gave glory to God (Luke 13:11-13).
As they went out, they brought a man possessed by a demon to Jesus, who was possessed by a demon, and the demon was cast out, and the mute spoke; and the crowd marveled, saying, "No such thing has been seen in Israel."
At that time, a demon-possessed man who was blind and mute was brought, and Jesus healed him, and the mute was able to speak and see (Matthew 12:22).
God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him (Acts 10:38).
Jesus healed many people with various diseases and cast out many demons, but he did not allow the demons to speak because they knew him (Mark 1:34).
These words are thought to prove that the cause of disease is caused by the devil and demons. In other words, it is manifested by the actions of devils and demons that diseases act in the human body and develop into diseases. In the Bible, we can see that when people who were sick with demons came to Jesus and defeated the demons, they were completely restored.
The disease of the Apostle Paul proves that the cause of disease is the work of Satan. In other words, the apostle Paul prayed three times for the thorn to be removed, but the thorn was not removed. Paul clearly said that his illness was a thorny poison and Satan's messenger (2 Corinthians 12:7). Thus, it is evident that his sickness was given by Satan. The thorn signifies that the disease was caused by Satan.
It can be seen that Elisha, a man of God, also fell ill at the time of his death, and Epaphroditus, a servant of God, was also ill, and that Paul and Timothy were often ill. It is not that God's people are sinners. Therefore, it can be seen that the destruction of the human body at the time of death is the work of the devil. It is said that death comes from the one who has the power of death, the devil (Hebrews 2:14).
Even the servants of the Lord, who have spent their whole lives in holiness, have their souls led to heaven when they die, and almost all of their bodies die from disease. The devil is a helper in all destructive work. In other words, it can be seen that the spiritual destruction of humans is also manifested by the devil, and that physical destruction through disease is also attempted by the devil. Behind all the diseases that Jesus healed, the devil had settled and was destroying the mind and body of man. When Jesus knew this and cast out the devil, the destroyed mind and body were completely restored both physically and mentally, and health was restored. The causes and purposes of all diseases can appear in various ways, but only the history of destroying the human mind and body can be seen as being carried out by the devil.
