Title: Sin (Romans 01:18-32)
Contents Because of the fall of the first parents, sin entered the world. So all of my life became a sinner.
Death came into the world because of sin. Therefore, the root cause of all the tragedies and misfortunes in this world is because of sin.
1. The Definition of Sin What is sin? Great Catechism 24 defines sin as "the lack of obedience to or violation of any of God's laws given as rules to rational creatures."
The Shorter Catechism 14 defines “sin” as “the act of not obeying God’s law or breaking it”.
How does the Bible define sin? What does the Bible call sin? 1st 3:4 says that lawlessness is sin.
“Everyone who sins commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness.” Lawlessness is a word that also refers to lawlessness.
John 16:9 says that unbelief is a sin.
When it comes to sin, it says that they do not believe in me. That is, not believing in Jesus as the Messiah is a sin.
Romans 14:23 says that not working by faith is a sin. Anything that does not come from faith is sin.
James 4:17 says that not doing good is sin.
“If you know how to do good and do not do it, it is a sin.”
2. The nature of sin What kind of essence does sin have? (1) Sin is a sin.
There are two kinds of high evil: simple high evil and moral high evil. Sin is not a simple natural evil, such as suffering or calamity, but a moral evil. Sin is a moral disaster that results from breaking God's moral standards. Sin is never pleasant, but painful. It's not happy, it's unhappy.
(2) Sin has absoluteness.
Sin is neither relative nor intermediate. In other words, there is no intermediate and relative thing between sinful and unsinful. Sin is not determined by circumstances. It is a sin for anyone, anytime, anywhere to violate God's law, regardless of the ages of the poems and the ages of the sheep.
(3) Sin is active.
Sin is not passive. Sin is not so-called substandard disobedience to God, but a challenge, invasion, and rebellion against God. In other words, it is not a lack of something, but an active and behavioral overaction.
(4) Sin is corrupt.
Sin inevitably follows guilt and contamination. The consequences of sin appear.
Sin corrupts the character of those who commit it. It defiles the mind, defiles the body, defiles life as well. Not only that, but sin also defiles the family, defiles the body, and defiles the life as well. In addition, sin defiles the family and society as well. It also pollutes the ground (Matthew 15:18).
(5) Sin has growth potential.
James 1: When lust has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death.
Romans 6:23 The wages of sin is death.
Romans 5:12 By one man sin entered the world, and death through sin...
(6) Sin has dissonance.
Vitringa said that the nature of sin is that man's actions, man's disposition, and man's condition are inconsistent with the divine law. Sin causes the sinner to be at odds with God, and it also causes discord and discord among humans. In other words, it makes them enmity with God and enmity with humans (Ephesians 2:17-)
3. Kinds of Sins What Kinds of Sins Are There One Sins? They are broadly classified into three types.
(1) original sin (2) self-crime.
Human beings polluted with original sin and inherited from original sin commit sins themselves because of this sinful nature. There are so many types of self-crime that it is impossible to describe in words.
Build with the mind, build with the eyes, build with the mouth, build with the body. build with hands and feet
Chapter 5, Paragraph 3 of the Code of Worship lists this as follows.
"Confessing the original sin and the sins he has committed, he will make all who worship him understand that sin is a very evil thing, because the component of sin is separation from God, and also speak of sins that originate from the root of sin. A sin that harms oneself, a sin that harms oneself, a sin in private conduct, a secret sin, a blasphemous sin, an accidental sin, a habitual sin, a sin that adds to the sin, that is, a high crime These are sins, sins committed even after receiving mercy, sins committed after receiving privileges, sins committed after taking an oath.”
(3) 不可赦罪 There is a sin that cannot be forgiven forever as a self-crime. The sins that cannot be forgiven forever in this life and in the life to come are blasphemy against the Holy Spirit and high crimes.
Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is a sin against the Holy Spirit (Matthew 12:31-32, Mark 3:28-30) and blasphemy against the Holy Spirit (Luke 12:10).
Heb 10:26 says that it is a presumptuous sin.
The modern man's bible says that the sin of falsehood is "a sin committed on purpose."
The new translation is "a sin that continues to be consciously committed". It refers to the sin of consciously, maliciously, and willfully rejecting, accusing, hating, hostility, and attributing the work of the devil against the biblical evidence and assurance of the grace of God in Christ.
It completely rejects repentance, paralyzing the conscience and hardening the heart. Therefore, this third kind of sin among the left is the most dreadful.
