Title: Sing with Joy to the Lord!
Content Title: Sing with Joy to the Lord!
Bible: Psalm 100:1 - 5
“Give thanks in everything, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” (1 Thessalonians 5:18) It is to give thanks in good times, in bad times, in sickness and in good health, in successes and failures. Because it is a command from God, those who serve God as their Father must do it intentionally. As much as you are grateful, life is rich and happy. Psalm 100 is the only verse in the psalms that is titled [Psalms of Thanksgiving]. God revealed a hymn of thanksgiving so that those who keep the Thanksgiving Day sang and worshiped this hymn.
First: Be grateful for what God made
"Know that the LORD is our God. He is our Maker, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture" (verse 3). said. The reason we cannot think of humans apart from God is that all humans are creatures created by God. David once extolled, “I give thanks to the Lord, for he hath made me wonderful” (Psalm 139:14). All human beings should humbly give thanks to God, knowing that they are God's creation.
Second: Be grateful for entering the court.
“Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise, give thanks to him and bless his name” (verse 4). It is not a formal reluctance to participate in the feast of thanksgiving. It says to enter with thanksgiving when you enter. The court is not for anyone to enter. It is a place where only the people of God, bought with the blood of Jesus Christ, enter. This is where the royal priesthood comes in. It is an honor to step on the gates of the court. How grateful are you for being a member of God's court?
Third: Be grateful for your constant guidance.
“For the LORD is good, and his mercy endures forever, and his faithfulness endures from generation to generation” (verse 5). The reason for gratitude is not in the conditions given to me. It belongs to our God. We are not good. We can't even be kind. We are not even sincere. But our God is good and forgives all our sins. It is to give thanks to the one loving God who saved us through the crucifixion of Jesus Christ and allowed us to enter the gates of heaven.
