Title: Single Heart / Dan 1: 1-21
Contents Main text: Dan 1: 1-21
Subject: One Heart
Introduction
1. The Lord warned those who pray not to be “double-minded.” It is because a heart without determination is like being driven and tossed by a wave, and cannot achieve anything.
2. Whatever it is, it requires concentration and mental unification. Faith is even more so. Do you believe this as if a flirt girl can't forget her ex-boyfriends even after getting married? would you believe that If so, how unfortunate is this?
3. Believers need only “one heart”. “Only Jesus, only Heaven” This should be our slogan.
4. Let's learn the one-sided faith through Daniel's faith.
I. We have a crisis of faith (1-7).
A. Daniel and his three friends faced a crisis of faith.
1. Became a prisoner (1-3).
1) Prisoners are not free. Isn't freedom the most precious thing in the world?
2) Prisoners of war have no human rights. Horses are humans and are being treated like animals.
2. A crisis has come to education (4).
1) The Jews were thoroughly religious education based on the Law.
2) But from now on, you must receive foreign education.
3. There is a crisis in the language. The use of the mother tongue was prohibited.
4. I had to change the name of Chang.
5. Above all else, the food crisis has come.
1) Because it is food that worshiped idols.
2) The pressure of conversion was included.
B. We also have a crisis of faith.
1. What is the current environment? There is no difference from Daniel's time. Let's look around us. There are too many obstacles to faith.
2. There are too many factors that stimulate us. Temptations of various cultures that permeate through TV, videotapes, and magazines full of obscene content.
3. Drugs that are readily available with money, and hallucinogens, etc.
II. The crisis of faith requires the determination of faith (8-16).
A. They made up their minds.
1. They must have been in their late teens. So, it was the time when the appetite was at its peak.
2. I left my parents' arms. Therefore, there was a risk of derailment.
3. Their position was very unfavorable. Because he was a prisoner.
4. Their actions may be in refusal of the king's orders.
5. So are we. Like Daniel, you need a decision to keep your faith.
B. suggested alternatives.
1. Try it for ten days--- a very good alternative.
2. We also need this kind of wisdom. You must have the wisdom to propose along with setting the will.
III. The determination of faith brings victory of faith (17-21).
A. Decisions can be accompanied by many obstacles. But it is only a temporary phenomenon. In order to plant crops, you have to plow the field, and you have to suffer the pain of plowing the field.
B. There are difficulties in making decisions, but in the end, you are bound to win. You need to know the principle. God does not turn away from us, nor does He want us to perish.
C. Big and small difficulties always accompany our decisions. But don't be afraid of that difficulty. You cannot enter Canaan without going through the wilderness. You must go through the wilderness. But keep in mind that beyond that wilderness, there is Canaan, a land that flows beyond milk and honey.
