I am a sinner / Luke 5:8-11

Repentance in our faith is the starting point for bearing fruit and the starting point for our holiness.

How urgent is repentance? When Jesus preached the gospel, the first words were, "Repent! The kingdom of heaven is at hand."

The Lord said this because when we repent, we can move the will of God. It also restores communion with God. And it is in this repentance that I can elevate my character.

1. There is an important element of repentance.

1) We must admit our sins as intellectual repentance.

I'm not going to tell anyone about this. It's my fault, I'm the cause. There is intellectual repentance, acknowledging that I am at fault.

2) There is static repentance.

It is thinking in advance of the punishment, judgment, and curse that come from repentance, feeling it in advance, and feeling grievous.

It is to mourn and repent. Seeing yourself sinning is a heartbreaking feeling.

3) The third is willful repentance.

If you know it's wrong, you stop there. And it's about turning around, but up to that point, it's all there in general Confucianism.

Even Judas Iscariot did it this far. Where you turn to is the most important part of repentance. It is turning to God.

It is going to God.

Hosea the prophet (Hosea 6:1) Come, let us return to the LORD, for the LORD has torn us, and he will heal us; he has struck us, and he will bind us up (Hosea 6:2) two days later the LORD will raise us up He will raise us up on the third day, and we will live before him (Hosea 6:3) So let us know the Lord, let us strive to know the Lord; His coming is as steady as the morning light, like rain, like the latter rain that waters the earth. will come to you

(James 4:8) Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and sanctify your hearts, you double-minded.

Repentance is a return to God. Without God in our hearts, according to our lusts, our instincts, our stubbornness, our grudges, complaints, hatreds, envy, strife, doubts and unbeliefs, we empty our hearts and be filled with God. It is about rejoicing in God and giving thanks and finding the peace that the Lord gives. It is to long for that grace. It is trying hard to get to know Jehovah.

2. Repentance does not work no matter how hard you try. Repentance is what those who are born again by the grace of God do.

Repentance is a re-creation of one's self and begins with faith in God's grace.

Sometimes they repent because they are afraid of punishment.

There is repentance, saying that we did something wrong in order to avoid punishment after seeing God's terrible punishment.

Another is to repent while asking for a reward in hopes of a reward.

If you do this, you will be rewarded. If you repent in this way, you will be forgiven. There is a number of people who repent psychologically by saying that 'blessings will come'.

However, the most correct repentance is true repentance when you repent while feeling grateful for grace and grace.

That's right. When I realized God's grace, I knew I was a sinner.

After experiencing the great love of God who knows everything, accepts it, accepts it, tells it to do it again, and warms it up again, repenting that I am such a sinner before God is true repentance.

Have you met a God of such great love? Have you been drenched in that grace? Have you ever met a God who accepts, accepts, and has courage, who comes with mercy greater than my faults and transgressions, and who comes with a greater light of love?

In today's text, there is a very strange and absurd statement.

Apparently, Peter caught the fish to the point of tearing the net. Then, of course, we should dance with joy, but we say, "Leave me, Lord. I am a sinner." I am a sinner What is he afraid of at this time? were you beaten? Are you cursed? Are you sick? That's not the story.

Now is the time to experience great grace. When I see myself in the light of that grace, I am so humble and so mean. “God, I am a sinner,” he confessed.

However, there is a completely different image of the Lord from this Peter. The Lord did not rebuke Peter for doubting, or rebuke him like this, "You unbelieving man." For this unbelief, the Lord forgave everyone and allowed them to catch many fish. It doesn't matter if you catch a fish. That my unbelief was forgiven, that my unbelief was accepted in this way and in this way by God. This is how Jesus covered me.

Thank you so much. So that's why he cries out like this.

Genuine repentance is in grace. It is done with gratitude. That repentance that repents with feeling love is true repentance.

Even though he knew he had no faith, Jesus showed Peter a miracle. When he repents, Jesus speaks.

"You will become a fisher of men. Be my disciple." Peter had committed a great sin by denying Jesus three times. But Jesus did not ask about the past. "Do you love me? Do you love me? Feed my sheep" and that's it. Peter is moved by this and lives for Jesus. Every time a rooster crows, I think of the words 'You will say that you don't know me three times' before the crowing, and whenever I hear a rooster, I fall down and repent. He is crucified upside down for Jesus' sake. Before I even repented, before I even repented of all my sins, He forgave me and gave me grace. 'I was moved by that grace and now repent. No, I repent for the rest of my life.' It is in that repentance that there is creation, power, and great work. I hope that you will experience the great love of God this fall and be reborn as true repentant believers.
