3. The voice of one who cries, saying, Prepare ye the way of the LORD in the wilderness; make straight in the desert a highway for our God.
4. Every valley shall be raised up, and every mountain and hill shall be made low; the uneven shall be made level, and the rough places a plain.
5. The glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together, saith the mouth of the Lord.

8. Others fell on good soil, and after being born, they yielded a hundredfold. When he had said these words, he cried out, "Whoever has ears to hear, let them hear!"
9. The disciples asked the meaning of this parable.
10. He said to them, "It is granted to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God, but to others it is in parables, so that they may see, but do not see, and hear, but do not understand.
11. This is the parable: The seed is the word of God.
12. Those by the wayside are those who have heard the word, and the devil goes and takes the word from their hearts so that they may not believe and be saved.
13. Those who are on the rock are those who, when they hear the word, receive it with joy, but have no root, believe for a while, and then turn away when they are tried.
14. Those that fell among the thhorns are those who have heard the word, but are choked with the cares and riches and pleasures of this life and do not fully bear fruit
