Title: Slave Joseph

Contents

20010617-11 p.m. Servant Joseph <Genesis 39:1-6>

Interest in inter-Korean relations is rising again these days. Whenever this happens, I look forward to when unification will occur. Those who have left their hometowns in the northeast will be especially desperate. No, even if it's not necessarily north, even if you have a hometown in South Korea, you can't go there often, and even those who live in an unfamiliar country will miss their hometown the same way. I heard someone say, "As the years go by, I am a stranger..." while trying to sing this hymn, "I counted the years I have lived abroad..." He stumbled this way and went to this song crying. Sometimes it seems that hometown is more desperate than faith.

How much more would Joseph feel when he was sold as a distant slave because he was hated by his brothers? At home, he wore special clothes and looked behind his back, but now his hands are tied and dragged away. Joseph, who didn't go far from home and didn't even know the geography of the immediate neighborhood, was now sold as a slave to Egypt, a country where all black people live. Now it is impossible to return home. According to the text, he was sold to a man named Potiphar, the leader of the Egyptian guard.

But, I don't know if it's okay to think like this, but when God is with Joseph like this, who receives the blessing of the Lord? Who benefits from gossip? Joseph? no. Joseph is a slave, so he has no ownership. So only Potiphar's family gets richer. Don't you think so? No, if God is with us and God's blessings come down, Joseph will be freed from slavery, get married, start a family, have children, become wealthy, show grace to take care of our neighbors, serve God better , evangelizing in Egypt.... Shouldn't it be like this? But what It seems like a life with nothing left. What the hell am I doing!...don't you think? Of course, things are going well and it is a great joy to be recognized by the owner, but this is not the life Joseph really wants.

How is your life? All believers who have become children of God by believing in Jesus! You surely believe that God is with you and that you are living such a life that He never leaves. If so, do you see the evidence in your life? To believe in Jesus, you must have received many evidences. Please experience these evidences in your life of faith. However, no matter how many such evidences, a life with God is a life that fulfills God's will, and never achieves the greatest wish of my life. In this dimension, I hope that you will walk with the Lord, receive God's blessing, and bear the fruit of the Holy Spirit abundantly.
