Title: Smyrna Church/Revelation 2:8-11
Contents Smyrna Church/Revelation 2:8-11
Key Verse: “To the angels of the church in Smyrna, the first and the last, saith the one who was dead and rose” (Revelation 2:8).
First, He is the first and the last (Rev 2:8). The Lord was before eternity and is after eternity. If a person is healthy, he can live 70 to 80 years. The Roman political forces that persecute the church in Smyrna are only for a short time. The king of Rome will fall soon. However, those who live in relation to Jesus live in the Lord's time, so they will exist even after billions of years. They live in the Lord's time. He is speaking to those who are greedy for material things. Tonight your soul will be retrieved, and whose will your preparations be?” (Luke 12:20)
Second, He is the one who died and rose again (Revelation 2:8). Who believes in Jesus? Those who believe in the One who lives forever. If they persecute those who believe in Jesus, they are persecuting Jesus (Acts 9:4). Now Rome is persecuting those who believe in Jesus, and they are doing great things. I live forever, and have the keys of death and Hades” (Revelation 1:18).
Is Thomas dead? Is his blood gone? No. The message of Jesus in his blood is multiplying and gaining power and is filling the earth. Jesus is the one who died and rose again.
Prayer: Lord, help me to hear the voice of the Lord, who is the first and the last in the midst of tribulation, who died and rose again. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.
