Title: Someone Going to Heaven
2010.12.12 Sunday morning worship service
Bible : Subject : Who will go to heaven
Mark 10:29-30 ‘29. Jesus said to them, “Truly, I say to you, anyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or lands for my sake and for the sake of the gospel will receive a hundredfold in this life, houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, There is no one who will not receive both persecution and eternal life in the age to come." -Amen.
If you go to church these days, why do you go to church? If you ask me, what would be the answer? Does the Bible really speak to the fundamental purpose of the church? Today, I would like to share a sermon titled <People who will go to heaven>. Who will enter heaven?
Before hearing about those who will enter the kingdom of heaven, I would like to share with you how the kingdom of heaven should be defined.
1. Heaven is the perfect kingdom of God in the future
For those who want to think of Christianity as the religion of the Way, the church can be thought of as a place to learn the secrets of living well in the world, leaving behind interest in the afterlife.
Article 20 Paragraph 1 of the Constitution of the Republic of Korea states that “All citizens shall have freedom of religion.”
The person who made the Constitution of the Republic of Korea didn't say that because he knew the truth, but to rely on those words and deal with religion freely without seriously worrying about what will happen to one's soul is negligence and dangerous to treat one's soul very carelessly.
Those who indulge in the imaginary paradise of Buddhism or pseudo-religion have historically had disastrous results. Including India, Buddhist countries and world idol religions are poor and outdated in culture.
However, countries that have properly embraced Christianity are rational and developed advanced countries. Because it is the true truth, it proves its effectiveness in history. Although we are victorious in the world, the purpose of Jesus' coming is for us to enter and live in that kingdom through the resurrection and eternal life.
John 6:40 “For my Father’s will is that everyone who sees the Son and believes in him has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.” John 14:2-3 ‘2. There are many dwelling places in my Father's house, otherwise I would have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you. 3. If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to myself, and where I am, you will also I will make it happen'
2. Who will go to heaven?
I would like to introduce some important biblical covenants.
Heaven is also a country, as it is written in the Chinese characters of the national character. You must have spiritual qualifications to enter that country.
Paul said, Philippians 3:20, “But our citizenship is in heaven, and from there we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.”
1) Those who receive forgiveness of sins and the recognition of justification
If we need to pay a visa to go abroad, we cannot go abroad as ineligible for a visa if we are under investigation for a tax evasion or crime. Applying for immigration is even more difficult.
Just as criminals do not receive visas on earth, they cannot go to heaven with sins. For forgiveness of sins, you must believe that Jesus died for you, confess that you are a sinner, and repent by confessing your contrition. Unbelievable without repentance.
Matthew 3:2 “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand...”
God, who is the judge of the world, sent his only begotten Son (John 3:16) and determined to save those who believe in him alone.
1 Timothy 2:5 “There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.”
Acts 4:12 “Salvation can be found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”
Romans 3:26 “For at this time he also showed himself righteous, that he himself was just and that those who believe in Jesus might justify”
2) Those who are persecuted because of Jesus and the truth
According to theological logic, the simple answer is that those who are predestined will go to heaven, but if you find the evidence that salvation is certain, believe in Jesus and when there is persecution due to the truth, he is definitely God's people and will go to heaven.
Today’s text Mark 10:29-30 ‘29. Jesus said to them, “Truly, I say to you, anyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or lands for my sake and for the sake of the gospel will receive a hundredfold in this life, houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, There is no one who cannot receive both persecution and eternal life in the age to come.”
Have you ever experienced persecution, heartache, and real suffering after believing in Jesus? Or did you just enjoy going to church without any of that? Some of the church members these days may wonder why they are being persecuted even though they attend such a good church.
No matter how much the world changes, when the truth meets the world, there will always be persecution in anyone's house. Because it is a very normal belief. However, heretics also make excuses that they are being persecuted.
Should I call it persecution if I discipline a child who is wrong? It is a parental rebuke. Please separate. Persecution because of the truth is persecution that comes from biblical life, thoughts, and claims. Being persecuted for living according to the Bible is pure persecution, not a bloody battle against accusations.
Heretics even kill people if they don't listen to them. It is not an attitude that leads the truth, but the result of demon possession and the power of death working. Jesus and Jesuits are not like that. It is a religion of love and life.
3) Those who believe according to the Bible
The Bible is not an ordinary book. Information that can go to heaven. Today's world is called the information age. Especially foreign travelers cannot go without information about the country. Can't you just travel abroad as far as you can? If heaven is your goal, you need to know information about that country. how are you going...
The Bible is the cornerstone of the Christian faith. If you make a claim that goes beyond the Bible, you will receive a more terrible judgment than if you did not believe the entire Bible.
Revelation 22:18-19 ‘18. I testify to all who hear the words of the prophecy of this scroll, that if anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this scroll.
19. If anyone takes away from the words of the prophecy of this scroll, God will take away his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are written in this scroll.”
In the 2,000-year history of Christianity, there were countless heretics who tried to misunderstand the Bible. The craftsmanship of creating or taking out words that are not in the Bible is the same as in the past and now. This is a characteristic of heretics.
In order to be delivered from heresy and from the vanity and chaos of life, if you listen to the truth of the Bible and receive an objective interpretation, your senses in the soul will be revived and healed. The Bible leads people to salvation.
2 Timothy 3:15 “And from childhood you have known the Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.”
In order to enter the kingdom of heaven, those who obey the truth of the Bible will enter. If you say you only believe in the word and do not follow the truth at all, it will be invalid.
Titus 1:16 “They confess God, but in deeds they deny him, an abomination, disobedient, and forsaking every good work.”
This is the last era. Checking the condition of one's soul is biblically simple. Do you often repent of your sins? Am I troubled by the truth and perseverance is always required? Do you long for the Word, encounter it every day, and live obediently in the truth? Just checking this will suffice. Let's go to heaven together. Let's be citizens of heaven. The day of the Lord's coming is near. I bless you and me who long for the truth.
