Title: Song Gu-Young-Shin Worship Message 2

▶Continuing from last week, I am going to meditate on the message of the Song Gu-Young-Shin worship service. 1 Chronicles 5:1,2 raises the question, “Who is the firstborn?” Of the sons of Israel (Jacob), the eldest is, of course, Reuben. Because he was born first. However, the Bible mentions the names of Judah and Joseph. This means that Reuben's birthright was abolished. The reason why the fourth son Judas appears is because he is the ancestor of the Messiah, his tribe was the most prosperous, and a dynasty emerged from his descendants. However, the Bible puts this Judas aside and recognizes Joseph as the firstborn. He was the eleventh son of Israel. Neither the ancestors of the Messiah, nor the dynasty. But he was able to become the firstborn because his life was messianic.bsp;bsp;bsp;bsp;bsp;bsp;bsp;bsp;bsp;
▶Joseph lived a life like Christ. It was sold by his brothers, but he became a light in a foreign land. That is, he became prime minister. Jesus is the light of the world. He forgave his brothers. On the cross, Jesus prayed for the forgiveness of sinners. He led the family of Israel to the land of Goshen to save them from drought and famine. Jesus saves his chosen people. In this respect he resembled the life of Christ much.bsp;bsp;
▶What kind of person will God recognize? He acknowledges the person who has the life of today. Even if we have a splendid spiritual background, we cannot receive God's approval without today's life. However, even if my origin and spiritual background are low, if my life today follows the life of Christ, God will accept it. In that sense, we must have hope. “I believe alone in a house of unbelief!” There is no need to humble yourself with this thought. What matters is today. And I am myself. From today onwards, if I can imitate the life of Christ and live rightly, I can be recognized as the firstborn. Think of David the shepherd. No one recognized him, but God wanted him and said, “A man after my own heart.” Instead of looking at the environment, let's look at ourselves in front of God. Am I really living a life worthy of being recognized as the firstborn? If so, thank God and continue that kind of life. You must be the firstborn like Joseph.
