Contents Songgu Youngshin Night/ Exodus 13:20-22
(Exodus 13:20) And they departed from Succoth, and they camped at the wall at the end of the wilderness (Exodus 13:21), and the LORD went before them with a pillar of cloud to guide their way by day, and a pillar of fire by night to give light to them day and night. (Exodus 13:22) And the pillar of cloud by day and the pillar of fire by night did not depart from before the people.
God with you
In the long-awaited year of 1995, the long-awaited new time, a new day, a new morning dawned under the protection of God who is in charge of history and works in time.
In the first hour of the new year that is dawning, God's thoughts are the subject of "God with us".
Today's text, Exodus 13:20 and below, records that the people of Israel were liberated from Egypt under the leadership of Moses with God's help and entered the wilderness. are doing
1. The LORD went before them ---- and led them.
The journey of the people of Israel was in the wilderness.
The wilderness is a desert. It is a painful place where there is no water and no grain, and the heat of over 50 degrees Celsius blows during the day, and the cold comes with strong cold winds at night.
The Israelites had not yet experienced such a life in the wilderness. Therefore, it cannot be a series of anxiety and nervousness.
However, God could not have known it, so He gave the grace of leading the Israelites who did not know where they were going.
The role of the pillar of cloud and pillar of fire
1) India (Exodus 13:21) The LORD went before them, leading their way with a pillar of cloud by day, and with a pillar of fire by night, giving light to them to go by day and night (Exodus 13:22). And the pillar of fire did not depart from before the people.
2) Defense (Exodus 14:19) The angel of God who was walking before the camp of Israel moved and walked after that, and the pillar of cloud also moved from front to back.
4) The expression of God's glory
(Exodus 24:16) The glory of the LORD rested on Mount Sinai, and the cloud covered the mountain for six days, and on the seventh day the LORD called Moses from the cloud (Exodus 24:17). It looked like a raging fire (Exodus 24:18), and Moses went into the cloud and went up on the mountain, and he stayed on the mountain forty days and forty nights.
5) A sign of God's presence
(Exodus 34:5) The LORD descended from the cloud and stood there with him, proclaiming the name of the LORD (Exodus 34:6) The LORD passed before him and proclaimed, "The LORD, the LORD, merciful and gracious, slow to anger." And he is a God of many kindness and truth (Exodus 34:7), who shows mercy to a thousand generations, and forgives iniquity and transgression and sin, but will never absolve the one who is punished, but will recompense the evil of fathers to the third and fourth generations (Exodus 34:8). (Exodus 34:9) And he hurriedly fell to the ground and worshiped (Exodus 34:9), saying, "Lord, if I have found favor with you, let it go among us, for this is a stiff-necked people. Forgive us our iniquity and our sins, and make us your inheritance.
6) How to communicate
(Exodus 33:9) As Moses entered the tent of meeting, the pillar of cloud fell and stood at the door of the tent of meeting, and the LORD spoke with Moses (Exodus 33:10). They stood and worshiped (Exodus 33:11), and the Lord spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend, and Moses returned to the camp, but his servant Joshua, the son of Nun, the young man, did not leave the tent of meeting.
Now that God is leading, there is nothing to worry about, and nothing to be afraid of, even on an unfamiliar and desolate desert road. Hallelujah!
In Psalm 23, David exclaimed, “The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.” Just as a shepherd leads a flock, so God leads the children of God whom he loves. Amen!
In John 10, Jesus said that he was the good shepherd. Jesus said that the sheep follow the voice of the shepherd.
The sheep who listen and follow the shepherd's voice find rest, fill, and thirst.
Even in the new year of 1995, when we hear and follow the voice of Jesus Christ, who has become the True Shepherd, we will never be lost and wander, and we will not be in danger. He will protect us even in the midst of tribulation. He will lead you to green pastures and to clear streams. Hallelujah!
2. It shines day and night so that it proceeds day and night (after Exodus 13:20)
It refers to guiding God's people, but specifically directing, interfering, and participating.
God pays close attention to and examines each and every event. Therefore, he knows what is needed and how he helps and guides him according to his need.
During the day, cool the earth with a pillar of cloud from the hot heat.
At night, he sets up a pillar of fire with light and heat to protect the people suffering from the cold.
