When Jacob returned from Paddan-aram, God appeared to Jacob again and blessed him, and God said to him, “Your name is Jacob, but your name will not be called Jacob any more, and Israel will be your name.” And he gave his name to Israel. And God said to him, "I am the Almighty God; be fruitful and multiply; out of you will come a people and a general assembly of peoples, and kings will come out of your loins. And God went up from him from the place where God had spoken with him. Jacob set up a pillar, a stone pillar, in the place where God had spoken with him, and poured a drink offering on it, and anointed it with oil, the name of the place where God had spoken with him. was called Bethel (Gen 35:9-15).
1. Wrestling in the Yapbok River
Jacob is a predator. is the grabber He was forced to live a life of suffering because of what he had been trying to grab hold of all his life. But when he changed the direction he took, his life changed too. How a man lives depends on what he tries to grab hold of. When Jacob tried to catch God at the Jabbok River, he would face a turning point in his life.
You have to fight to meet them. What has been holding me back for 20 years is none other than the seeds I sowed. Because of that, he could not even cross the Yabbok River, and now he is wrestling with God.
People see the problem and only look at it. Then it fails. You must have a spiritual experience. You must have experience taking off your shoes. You must have experience with a broken hip bone. What does it mean? that i can't I can't do it, but when I see what God is doing, there is nothing I can't overcome.
It is the experience of some pastor. Even if you evangelize, you do not come. But because the Holy Spirit did it, it became like iron sticking to a magnet. This is the work of the Holy Spirit. Thirst souls will come.
2. Return to Bethel.
There has to be a place to be. Bethel is the place where Jacob made a vow to God when he went to Laban's house. And 20 years later, they come back. People should be where they should be. This is where Jacob should be. So what time is 20 years? Bethel was the place from which Jacob had to return. It's not a passing place. The perfect plan for Jacob takes place at Bethel.
Bethel is the place where God has come. In a dream, I had a fantasy of going up and down a ladder. When is the ladder laid? When you want to go up, place a ladder. But Jacob did not let the ladder go. God has placed You put it down to come down.
It is God who establishes a bridge with us as sinners. If such an impression had been kept and the life of seeking God had been accomplished on the spot, the countless wanderings would have come to an end.
However, Jacob learned how to overcome fear and move forward by meeting God through the process. People are not created all at once. It took 20 years for Jacob to stand as a man of faith.
Don't feel sorry for the passing years. It was a necessary time to know God, and it was a time to strip off the dirt of the flesh.
What lessons do you learn from these verses? Being where people should be is a blessing.
In other words, it is beneficial to leave quickly where you need to leave. If God doesn't want it, we need to give up our greed quickly.
Is where you are now is where you should be? Or is it a place to leave?
