Bible Characters - Melchizedek
When Abram returned from defeating Chedorlaomer and the kings who were with him, the king of Sodom came out to meet him in the Valley of Shaveh, the Valley of the Kings, and Melchizedek king of Salem brought bread and wine, who was a priest of the Most High God. And he said, "O Most High God, Lord of heaven and earth, bless Abram, and praise be to the Most High God, who delivered your enemies into your hand." And Abram gave a tenth of what he had gained to Melchizedek (Genesis 14:17-) 20)
When I see Abraham, I don't feel that Abraham's faith is great, but that God's love for Abraham is great. God raised Abraham. The meeting between Abraham and Melchizedek is very important in his life.
Faith is whether you obey or not obey the word God has given you. Belief that you can do it is not faith. It is not the essence of faith that the sick think positively, proclaim with their lips, and do it in their heart. Faith is what God says and obeys.
What does Melchizedek mean?
The Bible says he is the king of righteousness and the king of Salem.
What Melchizedek shows is surprising in showing the true God in a culture of idolatry. Melchizedek has no parents and no genealogy. God has no genealogy. no further mention
What is Melchizedek in the Old Testament?
The king of Salem means Jerusalem. When Abraham returns from victory, the king of Salem comes out and blesses him. When God appears to man, He comes in human form.
At this time, Abraham works tenths. Tithing is not the law. Tithing begins before the law. This is an expression of Abraham's gratitude, love, and grace to the priest of the Most High God. Tithing is not because it is a law.
Melchizedek is not a man, it is Jesus. It is a model of Jesus. The king of righteousness, the king of Salem. is the king of peace This is the one who gave tithes.
Melchizedek appeared to Abraham, who acted in faith, and blessed him, giving thanks and praise to Abraham for it, and offering God's things. This is what we truly offer. You must offer something clean to God. Sweaty money must come in. It is not right to offer something unrighteous to God.
Melchizedek comes with bread and wine. This symbolizes the Lord's Supper of Jesus. It is remarkably consistent with the New Testament Jesus Christ.
What does the New Testament say about Melchizedek?
Hebrews 5:5-6 In the same way, when Christ became a high priest, he did not glorify himself, but he who said to him said to him, “You are my son, today I have begotten you.” And thus he said in another place, “You will forever follow the order of Melchizedek.” He said he was a priest
Jesus did not follow the order of Aaron.
Although Melchizedek was not of the tribe of Levi, he received tithes and gave blessings. Abraham paid tithes to Melchizedek on behalf of his descendants.
Although the Old Testament does not say Jesus, there are many parts that appear as Jesus. If you pray deeply and meditate on the Word, Jesus comes to life in every verse.
