Bible: Romans 8:1-2
Title: Spirit-Free Man
Romans 8:1-2 “There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, for the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and death” - Amen.
There are people who are timid by nature and there are people who are timid. Society generally favors people who are emotionally bright, angry, and outwardly. When I see someone who looks free and unbound, I feel like I want to be like him. Biblically, it suggests that anyone who believes in Jesus must be such a person who expresses some emotion of freedom. The text confirms that we are spiritually free. <People who are free in the spirit> I would like to share the sermon with this title.
1. Those who live in Christ Jesus
To live in Christ Jesus, or to live in the Holy Spirit, does not mean that we live beyond our sense of life as the mystics claim, and live as in another world. Galatians 2:20 'I have been crucified with Christ, therefore, it is no longer I who live, but my Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”
To live is to live, but to live by faith in Jesus. To live by faith in Jesus means to live according to the covenants and teachings of the Bible. John 8:32 “You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free” (John 14:6) John 8:36 “Therefore, if the Son sets you free, you will truly be free”
We are bound by Eastern ethics in the East, but the West is bound by science and the Jews are bound by the law. The law is good (Romans 7:16), but it does not bring salvation. Romans 3:20 'Therefore, by the works of the law no flesh will be justified before him, for by the law is the knowledge of sin'. 5:1 'Christ has set us free; therefore, stand firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery'
2. Saints are those who are free by the Holy Spirit
I get lost in the deep mountains and it's dark at night and I'm afraid, but I don't know where to go. At that time, if there is a light somewhere, you first find stability in your heart, and you will have courage and strength. When God looked at life, it seemed to be lost in the darkness without light and wandering in the woods. That is why the Bible says that the Word is light, and God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, and the church are all light.
Psalm 119:105 'Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path' (Proverbs 6:23) 1 John 1:5 'This is the message we have heard from him and preached to you: God is light. . .. become a partaker of the Holy Spirit'
Matthew 5:14 “You are the light of the world…”
The custom of the early church, which believed in Jesus and was still bound by the law, seems to be due to the long tradition of the Jews. In the case of Korea, it is difficult to understand the principle of the essential spiritual freedom of Christianity because Confucianism and Buddhist spiritual culture have dominated for a long time. There are times when a person's principles or rules bind the person of the Holy Spirit, but we must always prevent it from hindering the freedom of the Holy Spirit.
The word liberated, ejleuqerovw, means freedom from sin and punishment, a change of status, and exemption from all legal judgments. It is a past verb. The soul, renewed in Christ, is not gradually released or liberated by effort, but is already, already free from accusation, which no one can accuse.
The Jews were bound by traditions and denominations, boasting only their external conditions, and then perished. There should be no such thing as a denomination. The Bible tells us to become one with the Holy Spirit, but people have created too many denominations for convenience. And according to the numerous rules and legal provisions, we spend a lot of time dealing with the general meeting. The thing to remember is that whatever we do, we must not lose the blessing of being freed by the Spirit. 2 Corinthians 3:17 “The Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom”
Will my soul be free by exchanging self-respecting words in my ears? Do you have the sincerity to say that you love and bless anyone without the love to love you while tearing your flesh and bleeding? All of this is close to the sound of flattery with a will to liberate one's oppressed self.
