"Spiritual Lessons from Revelation 11"
Revelation 11:11-14
1. There is the ultimate security guarantee of the elect (Revelation 11:1).
The elect of God, who are ordained to be saved, will be protected by the temple and the altar and within it. It is essentially one who is in Jesus Christ. These are those who enter into the measure, and they were blessed to be redeemed in Christ Jesus according to the good pleasure of God before the foundation of the world (Romans 8:1, Ephesians 1:3-4, 1:13; Romans 3:31-39). ).
Those who enter the scale have already received the seals of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit (Revelation 7:3, 14:1, Ephesians 1:13, 4:30). They will never be harmed by the beasts that come up from the abyss, nor will their life of salvation be taken from them.
Inevitably, they are freed from condemnation. win in song Free yourself from your adversary Overcome all tribulation, distress, persecution, famine, nakedness, danger, and sword. This is the ultimate salvation of the saints.
2. The true church of Jesus Christ must reign only by exercising the spiritual power (Revelation 11:3-6).
It is to follow the example our Lord has set in the world. The Lord did not use the kingship of this world, the money, or any other power in the presence of Pilate, the ecclesiasticalists, the crowds, or the disciples, proving that He was King (John 18: 33-37). The true church of Jesus Christ has the authority to overcome sin (sackcloth). There is the power of fire that overcomes darkness (two olive trees and two candlesticks). There is the authority of the Word (prophecy) to cast a vision for the future of individuals, families, and nations. He has the authority to pray, to punish the wicked under the power of God, and to share blessings with the people.
Therefore, the Church rejoiced to wear the crown of thorns on the cross more than the glory of Caesar in this world.
This spiritual power is a privilege exercised only by the true church of Jesus Christ. Yet, why is the church of the last days not using this authority? The church must rule the world, destroy evil, and rule the world only by exercising the spiritual power. The exercise of that spiritual power was what tormented the evildoers of this world. They were interrogated and tortured (Revelation 11:10).
3. We must not forget that the church on earth is a battlefield (Revelation 11:7-13).
(1) The content of the battle is a zero battle.
It is a battle with the beast that came up from the abyss (Revelation 11:7). The true nature of the beast is the great dragon (Rv 12), the old serpent, the devil, Satan, and the spirit of unclean spirits (Rv 16:13, 20:10).
That is why Paul said, “Our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against principalities and powers, the rulers of this darkness, and the evil spirits in the heavens” (Ephesians 6:12).
(2) The battle site is a great historical square (Revelation 11:8).
It is a broad street, and the street names of this historical square are Egypt, Sodom, and Gomorrah. It is the place where our Lord was crucified and died.
Then, the continued spiritual warfare of the church is the toil of this world. After the fall, the world has turned into a battlefield of war. Therefore, human history has always been marked by war. In all these times, all kinds of wars are eventually gathered into a battle between Satan (evil spirit) and the Lord (the Holy Spirit), that is, the devil and the saints.
This is one of the great lessons of Revelation. So didn't Jesus say that you would have tribulation in this world (John 16:33)? The text says, “The beast makes war with them” (Revelation 11:7).
(3) The extent of the battle reaches the point of paying death.
Our text also says “… I will make war with them, and I will overcome them and slay them; and their corpses will be in the great city. ” (Rev 11:7-8).
Revelation 18:24 says, “In this city was found the blood of prophets and of saints, and of all who were slain on the earth.”
The battle church on earth appears to be developing temporarily and temporarily against a disadvantage. It is to the extent that the enemy (the devil) has come to power and rejoices, even sends gifts, and even judges the bodies of the saints.
However, you should know that this is not defeat, but martyrdom and victory. Isn't this the principle that a grain of wheat falls to the ground? Isn't it like our Lord being tried by Pilate, crucified and buried? But wasn't this the victory and glory of the resurrection three days later?
It is an extreme war, to the extent of seeing blood and seeing death. This war becomes more intense as the end approaches. tribulation in tribulation Soon there will be great tribulation.
4. But the battle is finite (Rev. 11:3).
It is limited to 1,260 days. It is forty-two months, three and a half years, and three and a half days (Revelation 11:3, 9, 11).
It is by no means a blind or indefinite war. It is a war that is coming to an end. The Lord clearly promised that the end would come (Matthew 24:14, John 14:1~3, Revelation 1:7-8, 22:20).
1,260 days are the end of the Church Age, that is, until the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. The period is expressed briefly. However, the sacrifice paid by the church during that period is death, and the blood of the martyrs constitutes the age of the martyrs.
The early church was the age of martyrs. The Age of Reformation in the Middle Ages was the age of martyrs. Now, the final church age of the last days will also constitute the age of martyrs.
5. On the last day of the battle church, victory is sung (Rev 11:11-12).
(1) It is a triumphant resurrection and a glorious ascension.
After three and a half days, the saints are resurrected by the breath of heaven and the voice of heaven, guided by the voice of heaven, and led into the clouds, and finally come before the throne of God.
(2) The victory of the church means the end of the fateful judgment for evildoers (the beast and its followers).
Our Bible said, “After three and a half days” (Revelation 11:11)
(3) The end of Christianity is therefore optimistic.
The universe and everything in the world must stand on the side of the Lord of victory. On the cross, Jesus declared victory by saying, “It is finished” (John 19:30). He also promised our victory. “In the world you will have tribulation, but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world” (John 16:33).
Isn't the Lord's encouragement toward the world church (the seven churches in Asia) a promise of blessing given to those who overcome (Rev 2-3)?
6. Again, the revelation of Revelation is a gradual repetition of the same event.
Revelation 11:14 says, “The second woe has passed, but behold, the third woe is coming quickly.”
The seven seal plagues are shown as the plagues of trumpets, and the plagues of the trumpets are shown in gradual repetition. It is not a revelation event according to a certain period of time, but all the revelation events from the first coming of Jesus Christ to the second coming are expressed by gradually adding color.
The first woe was the plague of the fifth angel's trumpet (Rv 9:1~11:14), and the second woe was the plague of the sixth angel's trumpet (Rv 9:13~11:14). Now will induce the third woe, the plague of bowls, the trumpet of the seventh angel, which will be the third woe. It is the last plague (Revelation 15:1).
The fact that God's revelation events are getting more serious and the activities of the wicked are getting stronger shows that the final battle and victory of the church is approaching.
It is as if the darkening of the night is just like the dawn of the dawn.
Then, can't the church sing a hymn of hope in the dark historical plaza where the first, second, and third fires are revealed?
Revelation 11:14 says, “The second woe has passed, but behold, the third woe is coming quickly.”
The first woe meant the plague of the fifth angel's trumpet (Rev 9:1-11). The second woe meant the plague of the sixth angel's trumpet (Revelation 9:13-21), and the third woe was the plague of the seventh angel's trumpet. It is a treat disaster soon.
However, before the plague of the seventh angel's trumpet appeared, a small book and an intermediate revelation about the two witnesses appeared from 10:1 to 11:30. It spoke of the fact that the church is a witness to the gospel movement. The witness's mission reached the point of death.
Now the seventh angel began to blow his trumpet.
However, after the trumpet of the seventh angel, the plague of the seven bowls, which is the content of the disaster, does not appear, and as an interim revelation, it shows the suffering that the church on earth will face and the comfort and hope the church will receive in that suffering.
The identity of the Red Christian who inflicts suffering on the earthly church is the great red dragon, the two beasts, and those who have received the mark of the beast.
Finally, the third episode unfolds in Chapter 16.
From now on, we will see the identity of the Red Christian movement and the suffering and victory of the church. Summary of Revelation 11
1. Two witnesses, two prophets, two olive trees, and two candlesticks refer to the church and ministers, which are witnesses of the faithful gospel movement (Revelation 11:3-4).
2. 1260 days, forty-two months, three-and-a-half years, a time, two times, and a half time refer to the entire New Testament period during which the gospel is witnessed (Revelation 11:2).
3. The four powers of the two witnesses are the power of repentance, the power of the Holy Spirit, the power of the Word, and the power of prayer (Revelation 11:3-6)
4. It must be remembered that the two witnesses were martyred while evangelizing in the world of evil such as Sodom and Gomorrah, but in the end they were victorious in the resurrection (Revelation 11:7-14).
5. Showing the church's final victory before the third wrath is a message of victory guaranteeing that Christ will reign in the new heaven and new earth (Rev 11:15-19).
6. We must keep in mind that the universe and all the history in it will eventually come to be ruled before the King of Truth (Rev 11:15).
In no way can the world or its history belong to Satan or his followers, the wicked. The reason is that the Lord will ultimately reign in heaven and on earth.
7. You must live with confidence in God's justice in which you reap what you sow (Revelation 11:17~18).
Whatever a man sows, he will also reap. He who sows to his own flesh will reap corruption from the flesh, and he who sows to the Spirit will reap eternal life from the Spirit (Galatians 6:7-8).
So, isn't it taught over and over again that believers have rewards and unbelievers have punishments?
In front of this great and just act of God, the 24 elders humbly fell on their faces and offered thanks and worship with their faces to the ground.
Our Holy Spirit said that God will reward those who fear the Lord.
Therefore, there is no reason to be discouraged, no reason to grieve or despair if we do not become kings in this world. Didn't our Lord not be able to be king in this world too?
Didn't the Lord say that my kingdom is not of this world?
The True Truth movement never wants to be king in this world. The reason is that in the new heavens and new earth there is a final and eternal kingdom in which Christ reigns. And yet, are we not also spiritually kings in this world?
8. Let us rejoice that the temple open in heaven is a living hope that gives vitality to the life of the church on earth (Revelation 11:19).
The seventh trumpet plague is the seven bowl plagues. Before this came, the gates of the temple in heaven were opened. There we saw the Ark of the Covenant and saw God's final weapon to judge the wicked. It is the end of the wicked.
We saw the fact that the heavens were opened when we saw the origin of the revelation event, before the plague of seals occurred, before we saw the plague of seven seals (Rev 4:1). There he saw God seated on the throne, and also the book with the seven seals in his right hand, and Jesus Christ, the Root of David, worthy of opening the book (Rev 5:1-14).
We also saw a sign that the heavens were still for half an hour before the trumpet plague (Rev. 8:1). At this time, God answered the prayers of the saints. After those prayers were answered, the trumpet plague began.
We also saw that the second woe began with a voice from the four horns of the golden altar before the throne of God (Rev. 9:13).
Then, the third woe begins by showing the Most Holy and the ark of the covenant open in heaven. Therefore, the saints are relieved at the beginning, progress, and end.
For the true church of Jesus Christ will always begin from heaven, proceed from heaven, and end with heaven.
Therefore, those who deal with the open temple in heaven are always the prophets, prophets, forerunners, shields, and strongholds of that era and history.
9. Let's not forget the standing weapon that God always judges the evildoers (Rev 11:19).
It is lightning and voices and thunder and earthquakes and great hail. These are the supernatural weapons of God, which only God uses. Therefore, we must keep in mind that revenge is not ours, but God's.
God shows salvation (the Ark of the Covenant) to the chosen saints, but to unbelievers he deals with lightning, voices, and thunder, earthquakes, and great hail.
Then, the sign of God shown in the end is certain.
It is salvation and judgment.
