Gal 6:1-5
“You are the body of Christ, and each part of it...if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; if one member is glorified, all the members rejoice together...but God made the body Evenly... there is no division in the body, but the members are made to look after one another” (1 Corinthians 12:24-27) “to equip the saints for the work of service, to build up the body of Christ ” (Er 4:12).
Dear brothers and sisters, we who are spiritual in the Holy Spirit are forming one member, so how should we spiritually have a relationship with each other? Today we will have to ponder and take this matter to heart. Is it really necessary to have an antagonistic relationship with one another among the saints? Enmity and envy, envy and hatred, maximized individualism and indifference, should these things be the life of the saints? In fact, the answer is simple. When your left and right hands met, did they fight and turn their backs on each other? Did your right eye drain your left eye? no. You can't. Rather, if one eye hurts, we cry together. If one hand hurts, the other hand heals and provides protection. Isn't there a saying that if you don't have teeth, you live with gums?
In this way, the mutual relationship of the saints should be united into a relationship that supports and complements each other, that is, love and love. Brothers and sisters, let's look at the Word. What does God require of us through His Word today? Verse 2 says, “Fulfill the law of Christ.” Are you not ordering? That's right. We must fulfill the “law of Christ.” The “law of Christ” refers to none other than the commandment of Jesus, the new commandment that Jesus commanded to his disciples. “This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.” (John 15:12) “I give you a new commandment, love one another. As I have loved you, so love one another.” (John 13:34) If the saints lose their love, they already lose their qualifications as saints. “By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” (John 13:35) Saints, let's love one another. Let the world know that we are the disciples of Jesus. Congratulations on loving each other.
Dear brothers and sisters, how should our love be shown in the church? It can also show kindness. It can also be shown as kindness or sharing that understands and comforts each other. It distributes material and distributes time and manpower. The joy of sharing, but God's command, of course, includes both kindness and sharing, but the saints tell each other to bear each other's heavy burdens that are difficult to bear and that are easy to stumble and fall. “You bear each other’s burdens” (verse 2). He says that I carry the burdens of other saints as love.
Jesus loved us. How did you show that love? He showed his love by carrying our burden of sin. The sin that brings tribulation and distress, the terrible sin that binds us to eternal death, He took on our behalf. “Behold the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world.” (John 1:29) He also showed his love by carrying infirmities and diseases. Behold, the Holy Spirit has been sent to us who are weak and ignorant. You can see how much Jesus Himself is taking care of our weaknesses. “He Himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses” (Matthew 8:17).
What is the burden of other saints that we will carry with love? Verse 1 says, “Brothers, if a man is found guilty of any sin, you who are spiritual, in a meek heart, correct such a person…” Yes. Each other's burden that we must carry is to keep from sinning, and to correct the saints who have sinned and are in sin. Who among the saints can confidently say, 'I can overcome all sins!' When you stumble, you fall into temptation. falls over. caught up in sin. pressed. I regret it. I am desperate. You may even give up on yourself. Therefore, we must cooperate with each other in fighting against the sins that oppress and threaten the saints, and fight against the lusts and desires of the flesh. If there is a saint who is already in sin, we must do everything we can to rescue him. This is to bear each other's burdens and to show love for one another.
Bringing members closer to the church, studying the Bible, leading them to pray, helping them to actively attend worship services, sharing fellowship among members of the church, having them serve in the church, etc. It is to equip the saints to fight against sin and to give them the weapon of power to defeat the lust of the flesh. Also, offering intercessory prayers for fallen saints, visiting them and admonishing them, encouraging them to stand up again, and teaching the Word will correct them. This is to bear each other's burdens. This is what it means to show love. Brothers and sisters, if this is the case, anyone can do it. Even a first-time church member can do it. Let's bear one another's burdens in these things and show love.
But there is one thing to note. Just because I serve, exhort, and teach, I “deceive myself when I think I am” (v. 3). Rather, we must not forget to be careful to “examine myself, lest I be tempted” (vs. 1, 4). Because temptation does not exclude me. When Jesus carried our heavy burdens, he first resisted the temptations that come to him. Can we not bear the burdens of others “only by carrying our own burdens first”? (Verse 5) This is where the meek spirit comes from. So, let's pick up our luggage first.
