Old Testament
6. With what shall I go before the LORD, and worship the Most High God, shall I go before him with a calf a year old as a burnt offering?
7. Shall the LORD take pleasure in oil like a thousand rams or ten thousand rivers? Will I give my firstborn son for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?
8. Man, the Lord has shown you what is good. What does the Lord ask of you, but not to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?
new testament
1. Jesus went to the Mount of Olives
2. When he entered the temple again in the morning, all the people were coming, and he sat down and taught them.
3. The scribes and Pharisees brought a woman caught in fornication and set her in the middle.
4. They said to Jesus, "Teacher, this woman has been caught in adultery."
5. Moses commanded in the law to stone these women, but what would you say?
6. They said this because they were testing Jesus in order to obtain a condition for accusation. Jesus bent down and wrote on the ground with his finger.
7. And they did not stop asking him. Then he got up and said, "He that is without sin among you, let him be the first to throw a stone at him."
8. He bent down again and wrote with his finger on the ground.
9. When they heard these words, they felt remorse in their consciences, and they went out one by one, starting as adults and young people, and only Jesus and the woman standing among them were left.
10. When Jesus got up and saw that there was no one but a woman, he said to her, "Woman, where are they who accused you? Has no one condemned you?"
11. He answered, “No, Lord.” Jesus said to him, “Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more.”
sermon
Humans face problems every day. There is no life without problems. How you solve life's problems is important. In solving one problem, the method of the Pharisees and the method of Jesus are showing different aspects. The Pharisee is approaching the problem with a desire to kill, with a stone, and with a loud noise. But there are no stones in Jesus' hand. The Lord is solving problems with one small voice.
Even though we say that we are disciples of Jesus, are we not living as disciples of the Pharisees in real life? A life with a stone every day, a life that is always accompanied by a loud voice, a voice of hate, and a voice calling for murder is the image of a disciple of the Pharisees. Since when, the Pharisee-like method has been used to solve the problems of the church.
If we are true disciples of the Lord, we must follow the Lord's way in solving problems. Put the stone down in your hand. And impress with quiet language. It doesn't take many sounds to move the soul. One small sound is enough. This is spiritual power.
How can I possess this spiritual power? It is in prayer. The Lord prayed all the way on the Mount of Olives and finished this great problem with a single word while being full of spiritual power. One word of the Lord caused ripples in the hearts of the enemies and gave them remorse, and they all retreated.
Let's all become like the Lord, possess spiritual power through prayer, become comforters of the world and people, and live as people who fulfill God's will.
