Title: Spiritual Worship
Text: Romans 12:1-2
Therefore, I beseech you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, Let us discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will.
It's already the first week of March. I pray that God's great grace will be with you in March. What a blessing it is to be able to walk with the Lord. And what a blessing it is to live in the great grace of the Lord. I am just thankful that the Lord helps and protects us when we are living in an environment where we cannot live comfortably because of the evil times. Today, I would like to share grace by talking about spiritual worship.
Verse 1 says, “Therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, I urge you to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.” God is pleased with spiritual worship.
1. What do you think of worship? Let me tell you about the significance.
(1) Worship is personal and holy fellowship with the living God.
Isaiah 6:1-5 says, “In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting on a throne high and exalted, and the hem of his robe filled the temple, and the seraphs stood there, each having six wings, with two covering his face. And with both of them they covered their feet; with both of them they flew and sang to one another, saying, Holy, holy, holy, the whole earth, O LORD Almighty, is full of His glory. Then I said, “Woe to me, for I am destroyed, for I am a man of unclean lips, and in the midst of a people of unclean lips I have seen the King, the LORD of hosts.”
(2) Worship is a moving expression of the grace of forgiveness.
In Luke 7:37-38, we read, “There was a woman in that town who was a sinner, and when she learned that Jesus was sitting in the house of a Pharisee, she brought an alabaster jar full of perfume, and stood behind Jesus at his feet, weeping and weeping, weeping her feet with her tears. and washed with his hair, and kissed his feet, and anointed them with perfume.”
(3) Worship is an act of glorifying God the Father.
Revelation 4:11 says, “You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive the glory and the honor and the power, for you created all things, and by your will they exist and were created.”
(4) Worship is a time to receive new strength in my heart from the Lord.
Isaiah 40:29-31 says, “He gives strength to the weary, and he gives strength to the weak. Even young men are weary and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who wait in the Lord will find new strength. It will be like climbing up, running and not getting weary, walking and not getting weary.”
(5) Worship is a change from self-centered faith to Heavenly Father-centered worship.
Philippians 1:20 says, “According to my earnest expectations and hopes, I will not be ashamed of anything, but, as before, I am still fully confident that Christ may be glorified in my body, whether by life or death.”
(6) Worship is a time of determination to devote ourselves to God.
Verse 2 says, “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may discern what is the will of God, which is good and acceptable and perfect.”
(7) Worship is the sacred duty of believers.
Verse 1 says, “Therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, I urge you to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.”
2. The attitude (attitude) of the worshiper is very important.
(1) You must have the attitude to have the Lord in your heart.
1 Corinthians 6:19 says, “Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God?
(2) You must give in spirit and truth.
In John 4:24, “God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.”
(3) Appearance and clothing must be neat.
1 Timothy 2:9-10 says, “In the same way, women also should dress in modest clothing, adorning themselves with modesty and modesty, not with braided hair, gold, pearls, or expensive clothing, but rather with good deeds. It is appropriate for those who claim to honor
(4) We must think only of God who will receive worship with a quiet heart.
In Matthew 17:8 we read, “Then the disciples lifted up their eyes and saw, and they saw no one except Jesus.”
(5) You must have an earnest attitude to receive grace.
Psalm 26:8 says, “O LORD, I love your house, and the dwelling place of your glory.”
3. You must know what is to be obtained (result) through worship.
(1) You will glorify God.
(2) Those who worship themselves will receive grace.
(3) Through the power of God, we will overcome the world.
Romans 8:37 says, “But in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.”
(4) I am convinced that I am “being for God”.
In Isaiah 43:1 we read, “Now the LORD who created you speaks, O Jacob, now speaks the LORD who created you; now he who formed you, Israel, speaks: Fear not, I have redeemed you; I have called you by name; you are mine.”
(5) It will cause you to be blessed.
Acts 10:44-46 says, “As Peter was speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell on all who heard the word, and the circumcised believers who came with Peter were astonished that the Holy Spirit was also poured out on the Gentiles, who spoke in tongues and exalted God. to hear”
Worship is the highest sacrifice offered to God. Since I am giving my all, I must offer my sincerity, time, material, and body to ask for forgiveness and give thanks for salvation. Through worship, the grace of the Lord overflows.
