1. After the death of Moses the servant of the LORD, the LORD spoke to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses' attendant, saying,
2. Now that my servant Moses is dead, arise and cross this Jordan, you and all this people, and go to the land that I am giving them to the children of Israel.
3. As I said to Moses, I have given you all the places where the soles of your feet tread.
4. From the wilderness and this Lebanon to the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites shall be your territory, and to the great sea toward the setting sun.
5. No one will be able to stand against you all the days of your life, for I will be with you as I was with Moses. I will not leave you nor forsake you.
6. Be strong and courageous. You will give this people possession of the land that I swore to their ancestors to give them.
7. But be strong and very courageous, and keep and do all the law that Moses my servant commanded you; do not turn to the right or to the left, so that you may prosper wherever you go.
8. Do not let this book of the law depart from your mouth, and meditate on it day and night, and observe all that is written in it, so that you may make your way smooth and prosper.
9. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid or be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.

Title: Spirituality Creating a New History
Text: Joshua 1:1-9
<Introductory words>
The 21st century is said to be the era of globalization, the Pacific era or the Northeast Asian era. Paul Kennedy, professor of history at Yale University, said that the masters of world history in the 21st century are not China or Japan, but Korea. Ham Seok-heon said that the driving force for fulfilling the global mission lies in faith, not military power, political power, or economic power. We must become the leaders the world needs in this global age. I would like to share the story of Joshua and tell the spirituality of creating a new history to become a global leader.
First, Joshua had faith with dreams. They had the dream of Canaan. Wesley emphasized that sanctification should be our dream. Sanctification means becoming little Jesus. From those who believe in Jesus, we must mature into a little Jesus who imitates Jesus.
Second, Joshua had strong and bold faith. The people of God need strong and bold faith. Just as you were with Moses, you will be with Joshua, so be strong and courageous. All Israelis over the age of 20 who sympathized with this pessimistic view of history died in the wilderness for 40 years with these 10 spies, and Joshua and Caleb were the only children over the age of 20 at that time. It was to create a new history of restoration of Canaan with the fields and young people.
Third, Joshua was a man of faith who did not lean to the left or right. The people that the new age demands are people of faith who do not lean left or right. We need a balance of faith and love. Wesley emphasized that initial salvation, that is, justification, is by faith, as in Romans, and that final salvation, or sanctification, is by faith and works, as in James. emphasized.
Fourth, Joshua was a man of the Word who meditated on the Word day and night and kept everything written in it. Joshua was a man of the word.
The highest level of sanctifying meditation is to be freed from habitual sinfulness by reading the Word, meditating with the Word, and centering it through closet prayer. Through close room prayer, we must enter the heart of our hearts, meet the Lord, and enjoy peace and joy, so that our character is sanctified.
<words coming out>
Let's all become people of God and create a new history. Let's have the Canaanite dream of sanctification like Joshua. Because God is with us, let us always be strong and courageous believers with the optimism of grace. Let's become believers who do not lean left or right by harmonizing faith and love. By reading and meditating on the Word day and night, you become a person of the Word, and become a person of Jesus who serves the 21st century with meek and humble faith that puts into practice the Word of the Lord.
