Title: Staff of Power
Exodus 4:10-17
wand of power
A man named Lawrence dreamed of becoming a monk. However, he failed several times in the monastery exam. So I went to the monastery. And started working in a restaurant. I started taking turns eating. While making food, adding salt, seasoning, and controlling the fire were not simply done. The same goes for washing dishes. He worked hard as if he were practicing godliness training. What kind of person I was determined to be.
He did not become a monk, but became a saint. It matters whose hand we hold.
The LG Life Economic Research Institute published an article titled “How Koreans Live”. There, he pointed out that in the same way as in the past, it is impossible to live as a form of survival. It is impossible to get through this era. Standards of living have risen, but abilities have declined. There are a lot of things that confuse me.
The content of today's text is as follows. God persuaded Moses and entrusted him with the amazing work of saving Israel. At that time Moses was 80 years old. A shepherd of Midian. At the age of 40, he lived in glory as an Egyptian prince, but when he saw his people suffering, he killed an Egyptian. So, as an ordinary shepherd, he was living with his wife in the wilderness. God commands Moses to set the Israelites free.
If you say who the target is, it is King Pharaoh. He is like a living god. It is unimaginable to subdue Pharaoh. That is why Moses lacked confidence. What should we do when such a situation arises? It is a matter of whether you have the courage to do something worthwhile before God.
We must hold the staff of God. It matters whose hand the wand is in. When Moses took the staff, it became a snake, and when he took the snake again, it became a staff. The serpent signifies Egypt and the kingship of Pharaoh. It's a scary creature. Catching a snake's tail is dangerous enough that the snake can turn its body 180 degrees and bite. But when the rod was lifted up in Moses' hand, it became a serpent, and when it took hold of the snake, it became a staff. It started moving. I started overcoming my fears. The Bible says “I can do all things through him who strengthens me”
David fought with faith against a Philistine general named Goliath, and he experienced victory. Of the 12 spies who spyed on the land of Canaan, 10 reported negatively that they could not subdue the land. It was said to be an impregnable castle. However, the two spoke positively. They say they are our food. Fear comes from ignorance. Therefore, we Christians need an eye to see reality properly.
There is an old saying, 'If you don't get tired, you can win 100 battles'. If we know the truth and prepare, we will be able to win the battle against evil forces. Therefore, we must learn and study every day and study the Word of God. That's what it's like to get rid of fear. It is something to meditate on, study, and practice.
When we evangelize, we often see cases where the people to be evangelized are not able to do evangelism because they ponder whether they should believe or not. Whether we believe it or not is not our business. All we need to do is to evangelize according to the Word. It's hard work. The Word testifies to us this way. “Our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against principalities and powers, and against the rulers of this darkness, and against the spirits of evil in the heavens.”
God's second miracle when he called Moses was that Moses put his hand in and took it out, and he became leprous, and when he put it back in, he experienced the work of cleansing. Leprosy symbolizes the suffering and suffering of the Israelites. However, God allows us to experience the work of healing and restoration. It is a blessing and a blessing. It is about restoring dreams and passion for the future.
I had a patient with cancer. There were people who had a positive mind that they could live and there were people who were negative. In the former case, even if it is a disease that cannot be cured by modern medical techniques such as cancer, there are cases where they were cured because of their heart, whereas in the latter, even a simple treatment, they died. Our Lord raises the dead and restores torn and broken hearts and bodies. Don't be discouraged and don't be discouraged. You have to keep that belief until the end.
When the atomic bomb was dropped on Japan, it didn't just drop without warning. Six months ago, flyers were distributed in the air and warned, but the Japanese ignored them because they thought America was going to lose. However, on August 6, 1945, an atomic bomb was dropped, and 100,000 people within a 10km radius were killed within 3 minutes, and 300,000 people within a 50km radius suffered from anxiety and died.
We must bear it by faith in the Word of God in faith. Moses made the excuse that he had a stiff mouth in front of God's command, and in the end, God appointed Aaron as his prophet. God is listening. It is the lifting of the staff of power. In the name of the Lord, I bless our precious members of Euncheon Church that wherever you go and whatever you do, hold on to the staff of power and live a victorious life in the Lord.
