Title: Standing in the Wilderness (Matthew 11:7)
standing in the wilderness
Matthew 11:7-15
Someone suddenly felt the futility of life. I was immersed in serious contemplation on whether I should live or not, and then I wondered what God's will was, so I opened the Bible. After closing my eyes and opening the Bible, I was prepared to put my finger anywhere on it and accept it as the voice of God. Then I opened the Bible, closed my eyes and pressed it with my finger, and found Matthew 27:5. “He went away and hung himself to death. .” This is the story of Judas Iscariot who betrayed Jesus and died with a remorse in his conscience. When the story of death came out, my heart became weak. So I thought this was not the case, so I opened the Bible again and put my finger on it. Then, this time it was Luke 10:37. “Go and do likewise.” He was very embarrassed, but he thought this was not the word he wanted, so he closed his eyes and opened the Bible with a prayerful heart, thinking that this would be the last of the three editions. . And I read the words that caught my eye at once. It was John 2:5. “Whatever he tells you, do it.” This man was so absurd that he could not die.
It is said that everyone feels emptiness in the journey of life. People feel futile when their hard work turns out to be the wrong thing. He took good care of his children. Since kindergarten, I have been exceptionally diligent. I also did more tutoring than others. So I went to a good college, met a good match, and got married. However, when this Goyan guy immigrates on our own without taking care of his old parents, the parents feel an indescribable sense of emptiness.
It is said that the world is so difficult right now that everyone feels skeptical of life. This is someone's diary. “I worked hard for a year. I worked until my hands were swollen. I went out looking at the stars in the morning and worked all night in the evening. I worked overtime and worked overtime. But after one year, I have nothing more left than debt. In January, a child was hospitalized with pneumonia and forgot money, in February, a boiler that had been working fine exploded and lost money, in March, he hit the back of someone else's car and repaired it, and in April, his son attending school took a friend's bag and paid for treatment... What is left of living like this?” This is the universal journey of all of us. It is a life of suffering, disappointment, and failure in life.
That is why we do not know how important the daily process of our life of faith is. This is because what we see, what we think, what we hope for, and what we are living in faith can become our confession of faith when we finish running. It is said that today, more than 10 million people hang around Jesus and lead a life of faith. I'm proud of it and I'm proud of it. However, it makes us sad that not everyone's end is all beautiful. Everyone, did you like the first time? If so, I hope that you will become beautiful believers until the end.
To do that, today we must learn a valuable lesson from the text. May our faith be able to clearly discover what to see, what to hope for, and what to live.
The last question Jesus asks is the determination of our faith. “Then why did you go out? Would you like to see a prophet? Yes, I say to you, he is better than a prophet.” These words refer to faith in the Word and its power. If the crowds at the time had to accept John the Baptist as a prophet who sent before Jesus, our faith today must be faith that clearly believes in God as Father and Jesus as Savior and obeys His Word.
Each person wears the glasses of their own mind and goes through life. Depending on the color of the glasses we wear, the color of our life will change in many ways. When you look at life in black glasses of despair, everything looks dark and lonely. Wearing rose-colored bright glasses and looking forward to life, most of his life will look like rosy joy. And if you put on your grayish glasses and look at life, it will look like a gloomy gray.
Life itself is one. However, depending on what kind of glasses you wear, it emits different light. The same goes for faith. The color of his faith changes depending on what he sees, what he hopes for, and how he lives.
How did you come to church today? What do you come and see? What you do is determined by what you do. I hope that you will become a person who sees and obeys the power of faith, hope, love, and the Word in people, events and times.
From the countryside, my grandfather came up to Seoul and took a taxi. When I arrived at my destination, the taxi fare was 2,000 won. But my grandfather paid only 1,000 won. Then the driver said, "What if I pay only 1,000 won to my grandfather?" Grandpa said, "Hey, did the taxi fare come out to 2,000 won? Did you and me ride together? So, each person pays 1,000 won, right?” he shouted. After hearing that story, it seems that the calculation is correct. Taxi fares vary depending on how you look at them.
Dear saints!
If you shake the bottle, wine will pour out, if you shake the bottle of oil, oil will pour out. If you shake the bottle, it should give off the fragrance of Jesus. However, when a believer in Jesus begins to shake, the stinky smell of the stars comes out. This should not be the case. Standing in the wilderness, like a swaying reed, become a spectator of faith and do not stand too far away. Do not look only at the royal palace with soft clothes in pursuit of the blessings of the world. wish.
