Title: Steward / (1 Corinthians 4:1-5)
How should we live in this world? We ought to consider ourselves Christ's servants and stewards of God's mysteries.
I. We are the servants of Christ.
Servant, helper, minister) also means Minister, but has the same meaning as servant or slave. We have to take on the role of slaves, servants of Christ, rowing the boat of the church that is going through the waves of the world. We must also serve as human servants. Paul says, 'For Jesus' sake we have become your servants' (2 Corinthians 4:5). Our service is glorious because it is for Christ. We must become workers who serve our family, our neighbors, the nation, God, and the church.
II. We are stewards of the mystery of God.
III. Our Responsibilities as Stewardship
What we need from those in charge is loyalty (2). In order to be loyal, we must abandon the following attitudes. First, we cannot be loyal when we pretend to be masters rather than servants. We must give up our pride and praise. Second, a lazy person, a mocker, cannot be loyal. Third, those who misuse (abuse) their master's property cannot be loyal. Fourth, no member of the family should deny any part of the property. Fifth, being ignorant even when seeing evil is not loyalty. Sixth, even those who forget that the master will come cannot be faithful.
Let me conclude.
The reward for a faithful steward is great. "Blessed are the servants when the master comes and finds him awake. The master will gird himself and make his servants sit, and come and attend to them" (Luke 12:37). The Lord, the King of kings, will treat me with hospitality. It is an indescribable glory. On the other hand, if you fail to fulfill your mission, you become disloyal like a thief, a blasphemer, or a murderer. In the name of the Lord, I pray that all the saints will become good and faithful servants who participate in the joy of their master by being faithful in little things (Matthew 25:21).
