Title: Stewardship (2 Corinthians 09:6-15)
Content 1. To give is to sow.
Farmers reap what they sow. In Galatians 6:8, Paul said that he who sows to his flesh will reap corruption from the flesh, but whoever sows to the Spirit will reap eternal life from the Spirit. This is a divine principle. He who sows good will reap good fruit in due time. It is only natural for those who sow evil to reap evil. How much more shall we not gather enough to lay up treasure in heaven?
1) Abraham liked to be treated as a stranger. He asked his servants to treat him with the best. Afterward, returning to him will remember that he had a son, and that he had obtained the mystery and riches of God.
2) The widow of Sarepta gave the last meal she had left to eat with her son for Elijah, the man of God. The widow's leftover food became food that could be shared more with the people of God for 3 years and 6 months.
2. I will do as I set my heart.
Anyone who makes an offering before God
1) You must do what you set your mind to. I will do my best to pray and do it with a happy heart.
2) I will throw away my stingy heart. It is a shameful offering if it is considered wasteful to give it before God and use it for a good cause.
3) Do not force it. Forced substances such as coercion are of no benefit.
3. God loves those who enjoy it.
How to enjoy it You must realize the grace of God. Then you can have fun. When Abraham, the father of faith, returned from destroying Chedorlaomer and the kings who were with him, he was grateful that the king of Sodom welcomed him and received a blessing from Melchizedek, king of Salem, so he gave 'a tenth of what he had gained' to Melchizedek. It was not to receive a blessing, but to give thanks for receiving the blessing. There are two reasons for not something. It is because of stinginess and ignorance of the blessings they have received.
God is the One who makes us abound in grace.(8) He is the One who makes all things abound, and makes every good work abound. He is the One who gives abundant food to the one who sows and what to sow, so that the fruits of righteousness increase.
'I thank God for his unspeakable gift.' (15)
