Title: Strive to gather (Hebrews 10:19-5)
In the text of the text, verse 25 says, “Let us not forsake meeting together, as is the habit of some, but exhort us, and more so as we see the day drawing near.”
As the times become more complicated and the last days near, he tells us to work hard to gather together.
1. Reasons for abolishing gatherings.
It means a lot to the saints to gather fervently. But why is the interest in gatherings waning? 1) Because of the development of scientific civilization-Daniel 12:4 says, “Daniel, keep these words and seal these words until the time of the end. This will be added." As the last days progress, the process develops and the world we live in will become more convenient.
2) Disadvantages of agnosticism - Ephesians 1:23 says, "The church is his body, the fullness of him who fills all in all." How much is the existence of the church really necessary for our religious life? There has been a debate from the old days, and as the last days get closer, the negative effects of agnosticism and neglect of the church are implicitly spreading.
3) Disadvantages of the church itself - In 1 Corinthians 1:11, there is a note saying, "My brothers, I have heard a word about you as a member of the household of Chloe, that there is a strife among you." It means that there are several problems in the church where people gather.
2. Reasons to gather.
Then, why do we have to make an effort to gather together? 1) It is God's wish-God wants us as saints to gather together diligently in the temple when we live in the world. Psalm 133:1 says, “How good and beautiful it is for brothers to dwell together in unity.”
2) In order to receive grace - 14:16 says, "Therefore, let us come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need."
3) It is a sign of God's love - The real life of loving God is loving the church. Colossians 1:24 says, “I now rejoice in the afflictions that I suffer for you, and fill the rest of the sufferings of Christ in my flesh for the sake of his body, the church.”
conclusion; Gathering earnestly is a measure of our faith life improvement and success. Therefore, as the last days draw near, we need to work harder to gather together.
