try to get together
(Hebrews 10:23-25)
Looking at this era, gatherings are becoming more and more withered. Gathering to worship is not what it used to be. Twenty years ago, one million people gathered in Yeouido Plaza. Now, it is said that it is a great success even if only 100,000 people gather for the Easter United Service. It's very annoying for everyone to get together. If we worship once on a Sunday, we think that we have fulfilled our duty as saints. In the old days, 5 minutes before the service time, they gathered, prepared, waited, and longed for people. It is difficult to even worship once a week now. It is difficult for a single family to gather at the table (…) We must hold fast to the hope of believing. That's how it gathers.
①Why is it difficult to get together?
(…) Because we are obsessed with formalism. It's forcing people to gather. When your faith becomes formal, you fall into complacency. Even when the Sunday comes, there is no preparation.(…) Our church has set 2008 as the first year of revival and urges us to gather together. First of all, early morning prayer should be revitalized, so I recommend early morning prayer to those who are in charge of important work in the church or who need to pray. Big churches can't do this. Because we are Sinchon Church, we are doing this kind of blessed work.(…)
② We need to put more effort into gathering
Committing to gathering means worship in action, living sacrifices, worship in spirit and truth. ㉠ It is worship that comes to God. It is personal worship before God. ㉡It is a salvationist worship service. Going to God is the truth. There is real life when we worship God. You can go to God because of Jesus. ㉢ Worship that strives to gather is a communal worship. The early church gathered and received the apostles' teachings. We got together and hung out. We got together to share the sacrament and pray. We made every effort to gather together in the temple with one heart every day. God gives grace where we gather.
③ Do not abandon gatherings.
(…) Some people had the habit of forsaking gatherings when writing the Bible (Hebrews 10:25). Even now, some Christians say they will believe in silence and alone at home. He says he wants Christ and not the church. Some people say they have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ but do not want to have a relationship with the Church. No! We belong to God and become one body. We must break free from the folly of believing alone. Secular gatherings are increasing day by day.(…) These days, Shincheonji groups disrupt the church and destroy gatherings. The more we do that, the more we should try to gather together.
I will arrange the words. Today… Many people are living a life of faith conceptually. I am living my life of faith only with my head, my thoughts, and my knowledge. This kind of faith has no power.(…) Only concrete faith that strives to gather gives me strength, empowerment, and solves problems.(…) Therefore, make an effort to gather together and believe in your heart. Amen.
