Title: Strengthen Me / Judges 16:28-31
Content Make me strong / Judges 16:28-31
“I pray, O God, please strengthen me just this time, so that I may take revenge on the Philistines who have taken out my two eyes once for all… ” (Judges 16:28-31).
In the text, Samson, who has forgotten his duty, appears. He is a judge of Israel. He is a blessed man who was called by God to save the people of Israel. But he ended up living with great misfortune. The strongest and greatest man in the world has become a humble and pitiful man. He was the strongest, but after he forgot his mission, the Spirit of God left him. In the end, it is tragic to see Samson, a judge who lost the strength God gave him. It was captured by the hand of the enemy and became a plaything for unbelievers.
Samson is not a weak person by nature. God gave him superhuman strength. The Philistines who showed off their tremendous military power were the ones they feared the most. What was the source of that power? Because he was greatly moved by the Spirit of Jehovah (Judges 14:6). The God of Jehovah is God the Holy Spirit.
Why did God give Samson such strength? It is to save God's people. But when you break that mission, you become a failure in life. Samson's eyes were taken away and he had to grind a millstone. But God did not leave Samson in that condition. He gives strength again and brings judgment to those who mock Samson (verses 9-30).
Why did God give strength to Samson, who had become weak again? First, because there was repentance. Second, I begged you to think of me. And I prayed to God, "Please make me stronger just this time." God answered Samson's repentance and plea.
Is there anyone among you who has failed in life or is being ridiculed by Satan? Please repent and turn to Almighty God. And ask for refreshment. Do not follow greed, but follow the Word to win.
