Title: strong wind

Text: Acts 2:1-4
In order for the church to become a church, it is said that “it must return to the early church”.
It is because the strong wind of the Holy Spirit blew in the early church. Even after 2000 years have passed, the image of the church, which is still emerging as a desirable aspect of the church, begins in today's text. After Jesus died on the cross and was resurrected, the Holy Spirit came upon the believers with strong wind and fire, longing for the Holy Spirit promised by Jesus.
As a result they
① I experienced the Holy Spirit, ② I received the gift of speaking in tongues, and ③ I became a witness of Jesus.
At the same time, the early church grew and the gospel was preached strongly as many miracles followed.
Even in this age, the work of the Holy Spirit, the wind of the Holy Spirit blows, and the church must be in the grace of the Lord.
What kind of wind is the “wind” here?
There are ① winds from the pressure difference, ② winds of sexual promiscuity, and ③ winds of the Holy Spirit. In this age, the wind of sexual corruption, the wind of distrust, the wind of golden almighty, and the wind of communism are blowing. It's also a mess if you don't get your mind right. Nevertheless, the church should not be affected by these winds, but for that to happen, a “strong wind of the Holy Spirit” must blow.
First, the wind of the Spirit arises only when we strive to gather together.
Acts 2:1 says, “When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place… “When we come together, history happens. When Jesus ascended to heaven, 500 people gathered on the Mount of Olives. Jesus told them not to leave Jerusalem and wait for the promised Holy Spirit. However, for various reasons and excuses, 380 of them left and only 120 remained. They gathered to the end and experienced the strong wind of the Holy Spirit. In Hebrews 10:25 it says, “Do not forsake meeting together, as is the habit of men, but encourage them, and all the more as you see the day drawing near.” In a world like this, we should strive to gather more together, and just as the Israelites gathered at Mizpah to fast and repent in front of the difficulties of the nation, let us also gather together and pray earnestly.
Second, the wind of the Holy Spirit arises only when we strive for prayer.
Third, when we speak in tongues, the wind of the Holy Spirit arises.
Verse 4 says, “And he began to speak with other tongues as the Spirit gave him utterance.” In 1 Corinthians 12, which is the “gift,” “speaking in tongues” refers to the gift of the Holy Spirit. Those who are filled with the Holy Spirit can speak in tongues fluently and enjoy praying in tongues. If you quench the Holy Spirit, prayer in tongues will not work well and you will not be interested. The filling of the Holy Spirit and prayer in tongues, prayer in tongues and the ministry of blessings are not irrelevant. Mark 16:17 says, “And these signs (miracles) will follow those who believe: in my name (Jesus) they will 1) cast out demons 2) they will speak with new tongues, 3) they will drink poison, and it will not harm them 4) they will do no harm to the sick. They will lay their hands on them and they will recover.”
Finally, the wind of evangelism arose.
In Acts 2:5-47, there were 3,000 people who believed in Jesus with a strong wind of the Holy Spirit. When the Korean church was revived, there were not as many love hotels as there are now, the suicide rate was not the third in the world, the fertility rate was not the first in the world, and the leftist forces were not as strong as they are now.
Church revival came to a standstill as things of the world prevailed. For this nation to live, the church must grow. In order to do that, you must evangelize.
Dear members of Shepherd Church,
A strong wind of the Holy Spirit blows on this nation
① The saints make an effort to gather
② Strive to pray
