Title: Suffering for sinners Isaiah 53:5

People all over the world say that society should guide criminals well so that they can live as members of society. However, he hates seeing criminals living around him.

It is the society we live in where people who have been released from prison cannot find work due to social coldness, as well as in many cases expressing their discomfort overtly. our appearance.

However, on the contrary, there are those who suffered for sinners despite being innocent. He is Jesus Christ. As we enter the Holy Week, today, we would like to share the grace of Jesus Christ, who suffered for sinners.

1. He dies in the place of the unrighteous as the righteous. 1 Peter 3:18 says, “Christ also died for sins once, the righteous for the unrighteous, so that he might bring us to God. , and was made alive in the Spirit.”

1) Jesus is a righteous man. It is right for the guilty to suffer punishment and shed blood in order to receive the forgiveness of sins. That is why, as the prophet Isaiah prophesied, we sinned in the sufferings of Jesus.

We must never dismiss it as the suffering we are going through. Isaiah 53:4 says, “Surely he bore our sorrows and bore our sorrows, but we thought that he was chastised, smitten by God, and afflicted.”

Because Christ is the righteous without sin. It is because of Christ's innocence that Christ's atoning death can take effect. Because it is right for the guilty to die

It cannot be used for the sake of others. But because Christ was an innocent and righteous man, His death could bring about the forgiveness of sins.

2) In order to atone for sins, He dies on behalf of the unrighteous. Jesus' suffering for sinners is a vicarious level of suffering. He deserves not to suffer because he is innocent.

However, Jesus died on the cross as a substitute for the suffering we had to endure in order to atone for our sins as sinners. If Christ died as a sinner,

Christ's death means nothing to us. However, because Christ was a righteous man and died in our place for the unrighteous, his death can be redeeming.

2. It is given once for all and leads to salvation. Hebrews 9:28 says, “In the same way, Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many, and will appear a second time, free of sin, for salvation to those who are waiting for him.”

1) We will give it to you at once. The death that Christ died to bear the sins of many was offered once for all. Jesus said in John 3:14, “As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up so that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life.”

It was a one-time death that was effective for eternity without any need to be repeated. In the past, in the Old Testament times, animal sacrifices were offered, which foreshadowed the death of Christ.

Sacrifice in the Old Testament times (犧牲) had only a one-time effect (效力), so a sacrifice was made every time a person sought forgiveness of sins. I had to make a sacrifice.

But now, Christ's atoning death is an event that accomplished God's work of redemption once and for all, and its effect is eternal. . It was, therefore, a substitutionary death with eternal binding force that no longer had to occur over and over again.

2) He will come the second coming to bring salvation (救援). Through his vicarious death, Christ forgave mankind's sins and made them redeemable. Those who abiding in Christ are his,

Thanks to the merits of the redemptive death of the enemy, we received the forgiveness of sins, enjoy life, and received salvation. But Jesus will return again to bring his people to full salvation and enjoy the joy of redemption.

The second coming of Christ is God's work that puts an end to all salvation. For those who believe, it is the arrival of the blessing that allows them to enjoy eternal life, but for the unbelievers, it is the arrival of judgment that leads to eternal punishment.

In 1 Corinthians 15:25, 26 it says, "He will reign forever until he has put all his enemies under his feet, and the last enemy to be destroyed is death." The salvation of the Lord will come fully upon us.

3. He shows the pattern of suffering (苦難). 1 Peter 2:21 says, “To this you were called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in His steps.”

1) The sufferings of Christ are the pattern shown to those who believe. In addition to the substitutionary meaning of vicarious death, the sufferings of Christ have implications for all believers as an example.

The suffering and death of Christ are the requested example in the lives of those who enjoy life in him. Jesus willingly suffered death in order to get his people who lived in him to follow him.

His death and suffering are not only an example for all believers, but also the coordinates of the direction in which believers should live.

Therefore, saints should gladly accept the hardships they face in reality and discern what the will of the Lord is. And we must live according to the will of the Lord.

2) Believers must participate in the suffering of good deeds. Just as Christ suffered suffering and death in spite of being innocent, so believers must also live that life.

"Let those who suffer according to the will of God entrust their souls to the faithful Creator in doing good." Said. Suffering from sin is meaningless. On the other hand, suffering from doing good deeds,

Those who are patient and endure while thinking of God will be praised as beautiful in the sight of God. Jesus did this too, and he demands this life from those who abide in him, following his example.

4. Arrange the words. Christ's death has two characteristics. One is a substitutionary death, meaning that Jesus, the righteous, died as a substitute for mankind's sins to be forgiven.

The other is the example Christ set for believers, who should follow Christ's example and share in suffering caused by good deeds. .

Dear saints, Through the Word you gave us today, I realized it. Now that you know God's grand plan of salvation, I pray in the name of the Lord that you will become instruments of the gospel of the kingdom that will be used preciously so that God's will can be accomplished.
