Title: Suffering from Crime / Lamentations 1:8-11
Content: Suffering from Crime (Lamentations 1:8-11)
1999.9.12 Evening Sermon (Rev. Doo-Man Jo)
It is easy for people to talk about the effect before the cause. If you say "I have a stomach ache", ask "What did you eat?" When you say you are blessed, the cause is said to be “obedience”. Jeremiah spoke of the cause and the effect.
Verses 8-11 say that the cause of suffering is sin, and at the same time approve of God's judgment of justice, and at the same time lament [O Lord, admonish me]. ) prayed.
1. The crime
1) We have sinned greatly and become as unclean (Lamentations 1:8)
“The impure one” (????) means hate, slander, and ugliness.
It should be translated as 'Jerusalem was always more sinful and unclean'. It is said that the crime has been made public so that others can know about it. The holy city was transformed into an impure city (verse 8). Believers who have fallen from holiness must reflect and restore sanctification (Hebrews 12:14).
'Follow the habit'. Customs, customs, and habits are very difficult problems. Their habit is to sin. There is a saying in our country that 'needle thieves become cow thieves'.
2) The dirt is on the skirt, but it does not consider the end (Lamentations 1:9)
"Dirty" (????) means uncleanness, religious filth, and uncleanness, "eventually" (????) means the end, the last, the end, and "thought" (???) means It means to recall, to recall.
that the crime was exposed as blatant blasphemy. This is a scorched conscience.
2. Consequences of the crime
1) When all who exalted you saw naked, they despised him and turned away with groaning (Lamentations 1:8)
"Exalted" (???) means heavy, strict, wealthy, famous, "naked" (????) means naked, shameful, dirty, and "despise" (?) ??) means worthless, mean, contempt. "Sigh" (???) means to mourn, lament.
With the fall of Jerusalem, allied friends abandon their hopes in Judah and leave.
Because there is a cause, there is an effect. So did King Solomon. When Jews are wealthy and prosperous, people often come and go, but because they are empty and hairy, no one looks after them. Go to a friend's house for three days when you're sick! Which friend do you like? But the wife takes care of the sick. Why can't you make up your own mind to live? Go borrow money from a friend! who likes As the country becomes poor, the world power is cold. I don't even look at it with help because it's become a poor country.
2) There is no one to comfort you even when you are surprisingly low (Lamentations 1:9)
"Surprisingly" (???) means fear, fear, and trembling, "even if lowered" (???) means to fall, come down, go down, and "up" (???) means to repent , meaning to sigh.
There was no one to comfort or help the unexpectedly devastated Judah.
There is a proverb in our country, 'Poverty cannot be stopped even by the country'. This is the world. Our country holds the key to making us laugh and cry. You should live with the pride of having this key.
3) The enemy pretends to be great (Lamentations 1:9)
"Pretend to be big" (???) means to boast, to grow up, to exceed.
Samson, whom Jehovah had held, was feared, but Samson, whom Jehovah had departed from, became a ridicule to all.
Samson, who was upheld by Jehovah, became a strong man, but Samson, who had departed from Jehovah's Spirit, became a mockery.
4) The enemy stole the treasure (Lamentations 1:10)
"To take away" (???) means to break, cut, stretch out.
Judah, whom the Lord has rejected, takes away precious things, namely, the treasures of the palace in Jerusalem (2 Chron. 36:19) and furthermore, the treasures of the temple (2 Chron. 36:10). Treasures are a model of the soul (verse 10). Since the soul was taken away and only the body remained, they suffered a great loss (Matt. 16:26).
Because Jeremiah is on a mission, he weeps, hugs him, and weeps. This is the patriotism of the saints revealed in the Bible.
3. Jeremiah's Prayer
1) Ask to see tribulation (Lamentations 1:9)
"Tribulation" (???) means hardship, misfortune, and calamity, and "Inspection" (???) means to see, realize, understand.
Jeremiah offers a prayer of prophecy. Jeremiah, who is looking forward to the destruction of the nation, is distressed, but those who are intoxicated with reality do not know the destruction of tomorrow.
2) He saw that the Gentiles had forbidden them to enter the council, and now they have left them to enter (Lamentations 1:10).
According to Deuteronomy 23:3, the Ammonites and Moabites are excluded from religious privileges. However, in Ezekiel 44:9, the prohibition was extended to all foreign peoples. But the LORD forsook them for their sins, and the Gentiles defiled the council. "Treasure" (????) refers to noble things, namely, the treasures of the palace in Jerusalem (2 Chronicles 36:19) and furthermore, the treasures of the temple (2 Chronicles 36:10).
Jeremiah saw the Babylonian soldiers enter the temple, only Jews and believers in the Lord.
3) They exchanged plants for treasures to revive life, and they still groan and seek food (Lamentations 1:11)
“Restore” (???) means to recover, to look back, “to change” (???) means to give, to pass over, to allow, and “to lament” (???) means to lament. It means to lament, to mourn, to lament.
It prophesies that Jerusalem will be besieged due to crime and food shortages will be severe. For life, food was exchanged for treasure (v. 11). It is Esau's act of exchanging material things through faith (Hebrews 12:16).
4) Ask for advice as it is lowly (Lamentations 1:11)
"Undesirable" (???) means worthless, wasteful, contemptuous, and "recommendation" (???) means to watch, pay attention, pay attention to, consider, look at.
Jeremiah does not lose heart in trouble, but prays in hope. Jerusalem's sufferings did not end when the city was taken captive.
say i love you But the body from which life has departed is a corpse. Only when we serve the Lord, we are blessed, and when the Lord leaves, we become humble. Jeremiah prays for rebirth with hope in the midst of hardship and discouragement. It is not that Jeremiah's prayer has not been reached. God's providence goes according to his providence, and Jeremiah prays according to his mission. We should not talk only about results, but we must become saints who always have the viewpoint of [when God sees].
I have a gold ring, but I need rice to live! Even if you give jewels or money, you cannot get food. 2 Timothy says, “In the last days, painful times will come.” The time of suffering will come in the 21st century. We will experience true happiness only when the Millennial Kingdom comes.
