Title: Supply of new strength/Isa 40:27~31
Contents Supply of new strength/Isa 40:27~31
“But those who wait for the Lord will find new strength… ” (Isaiah 40:27-31)
When unwanted pain comes along in life, many people blame the environment, complain, and sometimes despair. At this time, it is important to receive the new strength that God gives you.
In this text, we can see God's intention to enlighten Israel through Jacob (verse 27). Isaac's second son, Jacob, was a smart and ambitious man. The meaning of the name 'Jacob' includes a good meaning of 'wise' as well as a negative meaning of 'the one holding the heel'. It means a person who deceives others or lives in the world by deceit.
God provided strength to Jacob and took care of him. God tells the reality of Jacob and encourages the Israelites not to be disappointed even in their captivity. The prophet Isaiah says: It is said that God knows everything and is the Almighty who gives strength to the weak. The prophet Isaiah stresses that we must rely only on God.
Nevertheless, what is the reason for Israel's fall? First, because I doubt it. In verse 27, God rebukes Jacob for his unbelief and doubts. Second, because they are resentful. The people of Israel are people who have experienced many great graces. However, they exude resentment and complaints.
Have any of you fallen? What do you think is the reason for the fall? Wasn't he doubting God? The words of resentment that should not be said have become a snare. I hope you will receive the new strength that God gives you.
How can we receive the new strength that God gives us? You must trust God completely (verses 28-29). We must wait on God (verse 31). He gives refreshment to those who have faith and wait for the Lord. Jesus says: “Come to me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28). We must soar like an eagle with the new strength that the Lord gives us. I hope you live a victorious life, relying only on God and looking forward to it.
