Title: Sword of the Word
Title: Sword of the Word (Ephesians 6:10-17)
The verse of the text tells us to put on the full armor in order to overcome the devil and have victory.
Our battles are not against flesh and blood, but against rulers and authorities, the rulers of this dark world, and the spirits of evil in the heavens. If we fight with blood and flesh, we lose a hundred battles with blood and flesh.
This is because the devil has strong powers of blood and flesh, and the devil's weapons are blood and flesh.
12For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against rulers and authorities, with the rulers of this dark world, and against the spirits of evil in the heavens.
13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, that you may be able to resist in the evil day, and have done all things, so that you may stand.
So what is full armor?
1. Belt of Truth 2. Breastplate of Righteousness 3. God of the Gospel 4. Shield of Faith (extinguishes fire arrows) 5. Helmet of Salvation 6. Word of God (Sword of the Holy Spirit)
Think of the armed soldiers who went to war during the Roman period or the Second Zhou period.
The Belt of Truth holds the magazine firmly. Then they put on the armor and put on the breastplate of righteousness. And they put on the shoes of the gospel, that is, military boots.
Take the shield of faith. Wear the helmet of salvation. Finally, we proceed with the sword of the word.
We also hope that this time, in the name of Jesus, the precious work of having the sword of the word firmly comes to us in order to win the fight against the devil.
Then, in order for us to have the sword of the Word, we must first have the Word accurately. It should not be done according to the circumstances, roughly, or with lies.
The reason that Adam and Eve lost to the devil was because they knew it to be a lie or because of the circumstances.
God said in the Garden of Eden that you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for in the day you eat of it you will surely die.
Genesis 3:1 But the serpent was the most cunning of all the wild beasts that the Lord God had made. The serpent asked the woman, "Did God really say to you that you must not eat from any tree in the garden?"
3 Of the tree in the middle of the garden, the word of God says, You must not eat or touch it, lest you die.
4 The serpent said to the woman, "You will never die. 5 God knows that in the day you eat of it, your eyes will be opened and you will be like God, knowing good and evil."
Matthew 4:3 Even when Jesus was being tempted, if you are the Son of God, turn these stones into loaves of bread. 4 Jesus answered and said to him, “It is written, Man does not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.” do you say
I will set it on top of the temple, and if it is the Son of God, I will jump down.
7 And it is written, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.
8 Go to the highest mountain and show them all the kingdoms of the world and their glory, 9 saying, “All these things I will give you, if you will fall down and worship me.
To have the sword of the word
1. Hear Mark 4:20 Those that were sown on good soil are those who hear the word, receive it, and produce a crop of thirty, sixty, or a hundredfold.
Romans 10:17 Therefore faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ. (Listen to the sermon)
2. Read Matthew 24:15, Ephesians 3:4 Acts 15:31
3. Study (meditate) Gen 24:63 Psalm 1:2
4. Recitation (Sorokdo, Yulcheon leprosy patients)
