Title: Teacher's Mission/ (1 Timothy 4:16)
Contents Teacher's Mission
(1 Timothy 4:16)
A good teacher is a collective term for a desirable teacher, a competent teacher, an ideal teacher, and a teacher with qualifications. Therefore, a good teacher must have the qualities and abilities that make him a good teacher. First, you should examine the qualities of a good teacher and become a teacher who is determined to devote herself as a good teacher.
1. Teachers should have basic qualifications.
1) Teachers must always be personal.
Character is really important in teaching. Teachers want to be attractive to students and to focus their attention on themselves. If the students love and follow me, it will be easier for the teacher to love God himself. "I first learned to love my teacher, then I learned to love my teacher's God," said Marion Lawrence, a master Sunday School leader. This means that the disciples will follow through the character of the teacher, and when the disciples see and follow themselves, they will follow God. this is very important. However, it seems that many teachers do not attach much importance to developing their character. However, as a precious gift from God, one's personality should be developed as much as possible.
2) Teachers should always be lively.
Jesus said, "I have come that they may have life, and have it more abundantly" (John 10:10). This means living commitment. What Jesus wants of a teacher is a lively devotion. A teacher who is not lively or unwilling breaks the vigor of the class. But burning zeal and zeal bring vitality, increase the number of disciples, and lead to spiritual growth. To do that, you will have to train yourself to be alive.
Also, keep yourself in good shape to stay physically active.
Don't stay in the world too late on a Saturday night. This is the main cause of hindering the work of God. Until Saturday, with a weary mind and body, I cannot fulfill my responsibilities as a teacher well. The Jewish Sabbath begins at 6 p.m. on Friday. This is to prepare for the holy day. Being able to turn down an appointment on a Saturday evening can make you a successful teacher on Sunday.
3) Show your inner charm.
Our Lord was charming. Although his appearance was not good, his inner world was enough to captivate everyone. He was attractive to both the rich and the poor. The rich young man, the woman at the well, Nicodemus and Zacchaeus were all attracted to him. The teacher should show that Christ and his teachings are attractive by showing them attractiveness to the students. Am I attractive? Take a look at yourself before you come to Sunday School. Do you have an attractive appearance? Is there a spiritual attraction you want to appeal to your students?
Appearance is also important. However, you should know that your inner appearance is even more important.
4) Teachers must always be truthful.
Remember, no one feels close to an apathetic person. Make sure your students have access to you at all times. Make it easy to access A smile will echo with a smile. Friendships with children and young people leave a lasting impression. A teacher who leads a double life can never be beautiful in front of children.
2. Teachers must have spiritual qualities.
1) Teachers must recognize that they belong to God.
In relation to God, it is a being that must be in the realm of God. It definitely has to be in that area. They must not stay near it or span the area.
Also, a teacher must be a person who has been washed from sins by the blood of Jesus and born again by the Holy Spirit. You cannot do God's work unless you are born again by the Holy Spirit. How can a teacher teach students to be convinced if they are not sure of salvation? Unless you stand right before God, you cannot clearly teach the Word of God. You cannot have a sense of duty if you are not confident. Without a sense of duty, you cannot have a burning heart.
If a teacher does not live a life before God, it will lead to humanism. Teachers who do not belong to God tend to choose human aspects, which leads to the possibility of human abilities and destroys the principle of God-centered life.
2) I need to know that it is my job to serve and dedicate myself to God.
You must know that service without full devotion to God is unacceptable to God. God uses dedicated people. Service and zeal without devotion are not acceptable to God. Dedication is self-giving. The self-giving person does not tolerate a self-centered life. It is to seek the principle only in the center of God, and to live within it. It is because it is a sacred office entrusted by God to a teacher to serve and teach with thorough devotion.
3. Teachers must have a desire to learn.
Teachers should never stop learning.
If you stop learning, you stop thinking. To stop thinking is to die. education is dead. Teachers should always be prepared to accept any process. Also, you should always have a position where you can be trained. You have to practice yourself, study yourself, and develop your own teaching methods.
Have a lot of new ideas, read a lot of books on the subject you teach, grow intellectually, and be constantly learning. This is the only way you can grow yourself.
1) Teachers should diligently develop their own qualities.
Only then will we be able to adapt to the modern society without falling behind. Modern times are changing so amazingly. Knowledge is being renewed day by day, and constant change is being requested amid the flood of information. It requires a lot of knowledge, skills, and creative ideas amid rapid change. Today, it requires a brain rich in creative diversity, flexible thinking, thinking and judgment. The same is true for teachers. In order to cultivate the qualities of a teacher, one must first be a creative person. A creative person has accurate knowledge, thinking, sound judgment, attitude, culture, understanding, constructive imagination, abilities, and qualities.
2) I need to know how much I know.
Knowledge is power. Teachers need to broaden their knowledge. Not all children are the same, and there is always something new to discover. Then you need to know the topics to be taught and their interests. If I try to teach without knowing the needs of the generation I am teaching, I will be a teacher who lacks qualifications. So, you need to know the following principles:
Study the characteristics of students.
what kind of children What are their needs? What are their interests? What are their abilities? What do they lack? should know
Also, how to teach my children with textbooks.
It is the teacher's job to act as a bridge through which God's Word can be transmitted from my heart to the hearts of the students. It should play the role of a bridge that can reach the students' thoughts and hearts, and a bridge that can connect the children with God's will.
Also, figure out the character of the group.
Not all students can be treated the same way. Because individual differences are clear. Without recognizing these differences, it will be difficult to teach.
3) Get to know your students personally.
How well do I know my disciples? Do you only know their names? Or do I know the heart of children just as Jesus knows the 12 disciples? (The story of a Japanese teacher of the Three Polites)
Does the teacher know what a troublemaker student wants to be? Have you ever tried to find out? If you want to know them, you have to spend time with them. One hour of teaching a week is not enough.
What did you really do to get to know the students in your class? Many parents ask "What do you want my child to do, the teacher said--I don't know him. I don't understand." This would be a tragedy as a teacher.
4) Increase your knowledge of the Bible.
Teachers, you must become a constant student of the Bible, not just getting to know yourself and individual students. You must know the Word of God and be able to discover the great teachings of the Bible for yourself. When you teach in easy-to-understand language that students can understand, they can surprisingly understand the truth of the Bible. If you want to teach the Bible, make a clear plan for studying the Word. If possible, take a Bible class. There are many good correspondence courses.
You cannot truly teach until the teacher learns. A change in student behavior is the best evidence of good teaching. The truth must be known, and only those who want to learn can know it. Your role is to teach, inspire, and guide the application of this truth as it comes to life in the lives of your students. As a Sunday School teacher, you are teaching not only about your life, but also about God and eternity.
4. Teachers must have character qualities.
1) You must have a balanced feeling.
In teaching, there must be a balance between the feelings of the learner and the teacher. When the children around you are excited, you should be able to control yourself without losing your reason. Don't show your anger because it confuses your children. If your figure doesn't handle it well, you have to learn how to handle it. try to fix it
2) Must possess sincerity.
A sincere person is praised by everyone. Don't be a superficial talker. Prepare yourself in your heart and do what you want to put into practice naturally. It should be consistent. You have to be consistent, not over and over again.
3) Be patient.
Cultivating patience is absolutely essential for any teacher. Once a teacher is exposed to a lack of patience, much of the effectiveness of his teaching is lost. In that case, it is very difficult to regain trust in children. Impatient remarks or outbursts of anger extinguish the work of the Holy Spirit. (Conductor Teacher)
4) You must control love.
Jesus loved everyone. He had a heart of love for those who followed him and even those who hated him. The spirit of love leads people. The education of love exerts the greatest power than any other educational method in the world. Teachers will need to transform their character and make them shine by possessing the love of Jesus Christ. You should know that you can never get them without loving them. Just asking for loyalty from students does not mean you will get them. You have to get them only with love.
